It has begun! Apocalypse in Moscow! Severe hurricane in Moscow. Russia storm.
There was a hurricane in Moscow and the Moscow region, the areas in the southeast were most affected. In Dzerzhinsky, the elements demolished the roof of the building, in Kotelniki, the wind blew to smithereens the unfinished playgrounds. Those who worked at the construction site got it badly - the cladding on some houses fell off, the workers had to be evacuated.
In Lyubertsy, wooden structures rose into the air. Due to heavy rainfall, dozens of flights were delayed and canceled at Moscow airports. The victims of the hurricane have not yet been reported. The wind began to blow away people on the lifts, insulation fell from the facade. Playgrounds in Kotelniki remained in critical condition after the hurricane. In addition to the scattered building materials, the furniture was badly damaged. Emergencies Ministry services are put on high alert. They warn that bad weather will continue from the evening of August 18 to the morning of the next day. In some areas of Moscow, up to 33 millimeters of precipitation can fall. Residents of the capitals should beware of fallen trees and damaged electrical wires.
In addition, utilities have taken additional measures to prevent water accumulation due to rainstorms. Responsible services promptly carry out cleaning of storm drains and water intake grids, water pumping devices are placed in places of relief lowering. Now on duty are 300 brigades of the State Unitary Enterprise "Mosvodostok".
The wind speed in some places reached 12-17 meters per second. As a result, at least 100 trees were felled. However, there were no casualties.

Alexei Navalny's poisoning a year ago marked the beginning of a new crackdown on independent politicians and journalists. Labeled "foreign agents," some wonder if staying in Russia is worth the risk to their lives.
Journalist Olga Churakova was declared a "foreign agent" by the Russian authorities in July, along with her 27-year-old colleague Sonya Groisman and several other journalists.
Today Churakova and Groisman are recording a new episode of their podcast, Hello, You Are a Foreign Agent, in a small Moscow studio. They use the show to talk about the difficulties that come with the label. Along with the Cold War stigma, "foreign agents" have to declare all their income and spending and include a written warning about their status on everything they publish — even on personal social media posts.
Their previous employer, the investigative online outlet Project, was declared an "undesirable organization" in July and forced to close. Project focused on investigations into the upper ranks of Russian business and President Vladimir Putin's inner circle. It joined a long list of critical media outlets declared foreign agents and undesirable organizations this year, with journalists facing police searches and detention, particularly since protests supporting the jailed opposition politician Alexei Navalny in the winter.
Churakova believes the timing of the crackdown on the media and other Kremlin critics is connected to Navalny. The politician was poisoned a year ago with a military-grade nerve agent during a trip to Siberia. Navalny insists that state security agents were behind the assassination attempt, which the Kremlin denies.

Russia-1 (Russian: Россия-1) is a state-owned Russian television channel founded in 1991. It belongs to the All-Russia State Television and Radio Company (VGTRK). Russia Channel was previously known as RTR (Russian: РТР). Russia-1 has the second largest audience in Russian television. Russia-1 had started in 1965 as Program 3 in the Soviet Union and moved to Channel 2 in 1967 when a new channel, Program 4 (now known as NTV), was officially launched and the Moscow Program, which started in 1956, was transferred to Channel 3. From the very start, it only hosted programs produced by the Ministry of Education of the Soviet Union, as well as children's programming, in monochrome. The move to a new channel frequency resulted in it being renamed Program 2 and becoming the second home of the national newscast Vremya since 1968.

Russian wine refers to wine made in the Russian Federation and to some extent wines made in the former Union of Soviet Socialist Republics though this later referencing is an inaccurate representation of wines from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine. Arktika-class icebreaker
The Arktika class is a Russian (former Soviet) class of nuclear-powered icebreakers; they are the largest and most powerful icebreakers ever constructed. Ships of the Arktika class are owned by the federal government, but were operated by the Murmansk Shipping Company (MSCO) until 2008, when they were transferred to the fully government-owned operator Atomflot. Of the ten civilian nuclear-powered vessels built by Russia (and the Soviet Union), six have been of this type. They are used for escorting merchant ships in the Arctic Ocean north of Siberia as well as for scientific and recreational expeditions to the Arctic.
History
On July 3, 1971, construction began on a conceptual design of a larger nuclear icebreaker, dubbed Arktika, in the Baltic Shipyard in then Leningrad. Four years later, on December 17, 1975, Moscow and Leningrad received radio messages informing them that sea trials had been completed successfully. The newest and largest nuclear icebreaker at the time was ready for the Arctic.

There was a hurricane in Moscow and the Moscow region, the areas in the southeast were most affected. In Dzerzhinsky, the elements demolished the roof of the building, in Kotelniki, the wind blew to smithereens the unfinished playgrounds. In Lyubertsy, wooden structures rose into the air. Due to heavy rainfall, dozens of flights were delayed and canceled at Moscow airports. The victims of the hurricane have not yet been reported. The wind began to blow away people on the lifts, insulation fell from the facade. Playgrounds in Kotelniki remained in critical condition after the hurricane. In addition to the scattered building materials, the furniture was badly damaged. Emergencies Ministry services are put on high alert. They warn that bad weather will continue from the evening of August 18 to the morning of the next day. In some areas of Moscow, up to 33 millimeters of precipitation can fall. Residents of the capitals should beware of fallen trees and damaged electrical wires.
In addition, utilities have taken additional measures to prevent water accumulation due to rainstorms. Responsible services promptly carry out cleaning of storm drains and water intake grids, water pumping devices are placed in places of relief lowering. Now on duty are 300 brigades of the State Unitary Enterprise "Mosvodostok".
The wind speed in some places reached 12-17 meters per second. As a result, at least 100 trees were felled. However, there were no casualties.

Journalist Olga Churakova was declared a "foreign agent" by the Russian authorities in July, along with her 27-year-old colleague Sonya Groisman and several other journalists.
Today Churakova and Groisman are recording a new episode of their podcast, Hello, You Are a Foreign Agent, in a small Moscow studio. They use the show to talk about the difficulties that come with the label. Along with the Cold War stigma, "foreign agents" have to declare all their income and spending and include a written warning about their status on everything they publish — even on personal social media posts.
Their previous employer, the investigative online outlet Project, was declared an "undesirable organization" in July and forced to close. Project focused on investigations into the upper ranks of Russian business and President Vladimir Putin's inner circle. It joined a long list of critical media outlets declared foreign agents and undesirable organizations this year, with journalists facing police searches and detention, particularly since protests supporting the jailed opposition politician Alexei Navalny in the winter.
Churakova believes the timing of the crackdown on the media and other Kremlin critics is connected to Navalny. The politician was poisoned a year ago with a military-grade nerve agent during a trip to Siberia. Navalny insists that state security agents were behind the assassination attempt, which the Kremlin denies.

I'd like to welcome you all to my brand new, but old series 'EUROBATTLE - This time... It's personal!' I know... Ominous title.
This is the series where I'm going to be finding my all time favourite songs from Eurovision between 2010 - 2021.
The premise works exactly the same as my first series - however, songs from each country will be ranked from my 10th favourite all the way to my all time favourite. Russia and vodka are mentioned together so often that it's not even funny anymore. And there's a reason for that - Russia really has a really deep connection with alcohol. And really serious problems because of it. This video was inspired by @Kraut and his "How vodka ruined Russia". It was pretty good, but still left out some key details, so I'm here to take you on a journey through a thousand years of history. The shared history of Russia and alcohol.

Alcohol has been known in Russia for more than a thousand years. Old Russian chronicles mention about 7 different kinds of alcoholic beverages. It is believed that Russia even selected a religion only from among those that did not prohibit alcohol. However, upon closer examination it turns out that all these drinks in Russia were low alcohol, and people of Russia did not know about vodka until the 17th century. So how is it that the Russian Empire, the Soviet Union, and modern Russia began to have such big problems with alcohol? The greed of the rulers of Russia - Ivan the Terrible, Peter the Great, and then all their descendants - is to blame. They created a state system of drinking establishments, which allowed them to constantly fill the state treasury with gold at the cost of the health of its people. It was only Nicholas II, just before World War I, who decided to abolish this flawed system - and paid for it with his life. The Soviets came to power, but they were not able to do anything about the problem either, no bans or propaganda films helped. Only in recent years the situation with alcohol consumption in Russia is beginning to improve, maybe we can finally get rid of this terrible habit.

This video was shot in the Arctic Ocean in March 2018. For 7 days our crew passed through the Barents Sea to Karsky around the Novaya Zemlya archipelago on the nuclear icebreaker Yamal - we saw the northern lights and polar bears, watched the ships stuck in the ice being towed, and were very cold.
In the video you can see two Russian icebreakers - “50 Years of Victory” and “Yamal” with a capacity of 75,000 horsepower and a distinctive shark mouth, which appeared on it in 1994 during one of the children's humanitarian programs. According to legend, someone suggested drawing a smiling shark mouth on the nose to make it more fun for children. At present, Russia has the only nuclear-powered icebreaker fleet in the world. They are used to provide wiring ships in the ices of the Northern Sea Route in the freezing ports of the Russian Federation, research expeditions, rescue operations and tourist cruises.
In addition to the extreme weather conditions, the shooting was complicated by the fact that the icebreaker was always in motion. And if the drone was flying over the radar tower, the recording file was damaged.

'50 Years of Victory' (50 лет Победы / 50 Let Pobedy) is the largest and most powerful icebreaker in the world. She is an engineering marvel and is powered by 2 nuclear reactors that produce 75,000 horsepower giving her the ability to break through ice up to 2.8 meters thick or nearly 10 feet of ice.
The 50 Years of Victory has an endurance of 5 years before she needs refuelling with new uranium. The reactors eliminate greenhouse gas emissions that are characteristic of ships burning fossil fuels.

There are a total of 29 countries that have Icebreakers. Russia is the only country that builds nuclear icebreakers. Nuclear Icebreakers can generate power up to 230,000 horsepower. An icebreaker should be related to the subject or the purpose of the meeting. For example, if a collaborative learning environment is needed for a training project, then an icebreaker exercise that promotes collaboration could be chosen. If the subject of the meeting is literature, then the subject of the meeting could be introduced through an exercise that revolves around a participant's favorite books.
Icebreakers should be relaxing and non-threatening. For example, icebreakers in a professional setting should not require people to reveal personal information or to touch other people, as this may be stressful or culturally inappropriate. They should not embarrass the participants or make them feel compelled to participate. They should also not show disrespect for any social and professional hierarchies in the group, as this can be uncomfortable for participants. At the end of a well-executed icebreaker exercise, the facilitator should be able to summarize for the group what was learned during the exercise.

They warn that bad weather will continue from the evening of August 18 to the morning of the next day. In some areas of Moscow, up to 33 millimeters of precipitation can fall. Residents of the capitals should beware of fallen trees and damaged electrical wires.
In addition, utilities have taken additional measures to prevent water accumulation due to rainstorms. Responsible services promptly carry out cleaning of storm drains and water intake grids, water pumping devices are placed in places of relief lowering. Now on duty are 300 brigades of the State Unitary Enterprise "Mosvodostok".
The wind speed in some places reached 12-17 meters per second. As a result, at least 100 trees were felled. However, there were no casualties.

Alexei Navalny's poisoning a year ago marked the beginning of a new crackdown on independent politicians and journalists. Labeled "foreign agents," some wonder if staying in Russia is worth the risk to their lives.
Journalist Olga Churakova was declared a "foreign agent" by the Russian authorities in July, along with her 27-year-old colleague Sonya Groisman and several other journalists.
Today Churakova and Groisman are recording a new episode of their podcast, Hello, You Are a Foreign Agent, in a small Moscow studio. They use the show to talk about the difficulties that come with the label. Along with the Cold War stigma, "foreign agents" have to declare all their income and spending and include a written warning about their status on everything they publish — even on personal social media posts.
Their previous employer, the investigative online outlet Project, was declared an "undesirable organization" in July and forced to close. Project focused on investigations into the upper ranks of Russian business and President Vladimir Putin's inner circle. It joined a long list of critical media outlets declared foreign agents and undesirable organizations this year, with journalists facing police searches and detention, particularly since protests supporting the jailed opposition politician Alexei Navalny in the winter.
Churakova believes the timing of the crackdown on the media and other Kremlin critics is connected to Navalny. The politician was poisoned a year ago with a military-grade nerve agent during a trip to Siberia. Navalny insists that state security agents were behind the assassination attempt, which the Kremlin denies.

Hi everyone and welcome back to another Lukeovision video!
I'd like to welcome you all to my brand new, but old series 'EUROBATTLE - This time... It's personal!' I know... Ominous title.
This is the series where I'm going to be finding my all time favourite songs from Eurovision between 2010 - 2021.
The premise works exactly the same as my first series - however, songs from each country will be ranked from my 10th favourite all the way to my all time favourite. These songs will then face off against one another 10th vs 10th etc to ultimately find out who my all time favourite country at Eurovision is an which is my favourite song!
My main question from this series is, who is your favourite entrant from each country!? Let me know all of your faves and all of your tastes down below!

Russia-1
Russia-1 (Russian: Россия-1) is a state-owned Russian television channel founded in 1991. It belongs to the All-Russia State Television and Radio Company (VGTRK). Russia Channel was previously known as RTR (Russian: РТР). Russia-1 has the second largest audience in Russian television. In a typical week, it is viewed by 75% of urban Russians, compared to 83% for the leading channel, Channel One. The two channels are similar in their politics, and they compete directly in entertainment. Russia-1 has many regional variations and broadcasts in many languages.
History
Soviet period
Russia-1 had started in 1965 as Program 3 in the Soviet Union and moved to Channel 2 in 1967 when a new channel, Program 4 (now known as NTV), was officially launched and the Moscow Program, which started in 1956, was transferred to Channel 3. From the very start, it only hosted programs produced by the Ministry of Education of the Soviet Union, as well as children's programming, in monochrome. The move to a new channel frequency resulted in it being renamed Program 2 and becoming the second home of the national newscast Vremya since 1968.

Russia and vodka are mentioned together so often that it's not even funny anymore. And there's a reason for that - Russia really has a really deep connection with alcohol. And really serious problems because of it. This video was inspired by @Kraut and his "How vodka ruined Russia". It was pretty good, but still left out some key details, so I'm here to take you on a journey through a thousand years of history. The shared history of Russia and alcohol.

Alcohol has been known in Russia for more than a thousand years. Old Russian chronicles mention about 7 different kinds of alcoholic beverages. It is believed that Russia even selected a religion only from among those that did not prohibit alcohol. However, upon closer examination it turns out that all these drinks in Russia were low alcohol, and people of Russia did not know about vodka until the 17th century. So how is it that the Russian Empire, the Soviet Union, and modern Russia began to have such big problems with alcohol? The greed of the rulers of Russia - Ivan the Terrible, Peter the Great, and then all their descendants - is to blame. They created a state system of drinking establishments, which allowed them to constantly fill the state treasury with gold at the cost of the health of its people. It was only Nicholas II, just before World War I, who decided to abolish this flawed system - and paid for it with his life. The Soviets came to power, but they were not able to do anything about the problem either, no bans or propaganda films helped. Only in recent years the situation with alcohol consumption in Russia is beginning to improve, maybe we can finally get rid of this terrible habit.

This video was shot in the Arctic Ocean in March 2018. For 7 days our crew passed through the Barents Sea to Karsky around the Novaya Zemlya archipelago on the nuclear icebreaker Yamal - we saw the northern lights and polar bears, watched the ships stuck in the ice being towed, and were very cold.
In the video you can see two Russian icebreakers - “50 Years of Victory” and “Yamal” with a capacity of 75,000 horsepower and a distinctive shark mouth, which appeared on it in 1994 during one of the children's humanitarian programs. According to legend, someone suggested drawing a smiling shark mouth on the nose to make it more fun for children. At present, Russia has the only nuclear-powered icebreaker fleet in the world. They are used to provide wiring ships in the ices of the Northern Sea Route in the freezing ports of the Russian Federation, research expeditions, rescue operations and tourist cruises.
In addition to the extreme weather conditions, the shooting was complicated by the fact that the icebreaker was always in motion. And if the drone was flying over the radar tower, the recording file was damaged.

В ролике можно увидеть два российских ледокола — «50 лет Победы» и «Ямал» с мощностью 75000 лошадиных сил и отличительной акульей пастью, которая появилась на нем в 1994 году во время одной из детских гуманитарных программ. По легенде, кто-то предложил нарисовать на носовой части улыбающуюся акулью пасть, чтобы детям было веселее. В настоящее время Россия обладает единственным в мире флотом из атомных ледоколов. Их используют для обеспечения проводки судов в акватории Северного морского пути в замерзающие порты РФ, научно-исследовательских экспедиций, аварийно-спасательных операций и туристических круизов.
Помимо экстремальных погодных условий съемки осложнялись тем, что ледокол все время находился в движении. А если квадрокоптер DJI Inspire 2 пролетал над радиолокационной вышкой, то файл с записью повреждался.

This is an in-depth film of a voyage through the Arctic Ocean ice to the geographic North Pole on the nuclear powered icebreaker '50 Years of Victory'. Leaving the North Pole, we visited Franz Josef Land before sailing back to Murmansk. Along the way we saw polar bears, walruses, seals and birds.
'50 Years of Victory' (50 лет Победы / 50 Let Pobedy) is the largest and most powerful icebreaker in the world. She is an engineering marvel and is powered by 2 nuclear reactors that produce 75,000 horsepower giving her the ability to break through ice up to 2.8 meters thick or nearly 10 feet of ice.
The 50 Years of Victory has an endurance of 5 years before she needs refuelling with new uranium. The reactors eliminate greenhouse gas emissions that are characteristic of ships burning fossil fuels.

There are a total of 29 countries that have Icebreakers. Russia is the only country that builds nuclear icebreakers. Nuclear Icebreakers can generate power up to 230,000 horsepower. An icebreaker should be related to the subject or the purpose of the meeting. For example, if a collaborative learning environment is needed for a training project, then an icebreaker exercise that promotes collaboration could be chosen. If the subject of the meeting is literature, then the subject of the meeting could be introduced through an exercise that revolves around a participant's favorite books.
Icebreakers should be relaxing and non-threatening. For example, icebreakers in a professional setting should not require people to reveal personal information or to touch other people, as this may be stressful or culturally inappropriate. They should not embarrass the participants or make them feel compelled to participate. They should also not show disrespect for any social and professional hierarchies in the group, as this can be uncomfortable for participants. At the end of a well-executed icebreaker exercise, the facilitator should be able to summarize for the group what was learned during the exercise.
