Linden, Indiana
Linden is a town in Madison Township, Montgomery County, Indiana, United States. The population was 759 at the 2010 census.
Linden was platted by Joel Lee, William Hartman and Hiram Hughes in 1851.
Linden is located at 40°11′19″N 86°54′12″W / 40.188695°N 86.903311°W / 40.188695; -86.903311.
According to the 2010 census, the town has a total area of 0.42 square miles (1.1 km2), all land.
As of the census of 2000, there were 700 people, 302 households, and 202 families residing in the town. The population density was 2,703.8 people per square mile (1,039.5/km²). There were 321 housing units at an average density of 1,239.9 per square mile (476.7/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 98.14% White, 0.29% African American, 0.57% Native American, and 1.00% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.43% of the population.
There were 302 households out of which 34.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.0% were married couples living together, 7.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 33.1% were non-families. 27.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 11.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.32 and the average family size was 2.80.

Joseph Frank "Buster" Keaton (October 4, 1895 – February 1, 1966) was an American comic actor, filmmaker, producer and writer. Speeder ride on the southern part of the former MEC Mountain Div from Fryeburg to Sebago Lake. MT-19, A5-C, A4-E A rainy day at start but the rain quit on the return run. A5 ran very well for its first time out since a drive shaft failure last fall. Harvey wanted to have a photo of the 2 A cars next to the old freight house on the Baldwin Station helper siding, so we do a bit of switching.

Traffic jams could soon become a thing of the past thanks to an amateur inventor who has built the world's first flying motorcycle in his garage. Australian Christopher Malloy ploughed his entire life-savings into the project which took him two and a half years to complete. His futuristic creation - dubbed the Hoverbike - can reach an altitude of 10000ft and speeds of over 100mph. Fans of the design have already compared Mr Malloy's work to the 'speeder bikes' from the Star Wars sequel Return Of The Jedi or the hovering car from Back To The Future. The 32-year-old former helicopter pilot built the incredible machine in his Sydney garage using a custom-built carbon-fiber airframe and a BMW engine. The futuristic prototype has the potential to travel up to 92 miles or for about 45 minutes on one tank of fuel and is expected to come with a hefty price tag of more than £45000. So far the bike, which weighs 270kgs, has only been tested while tethered to the ground to prevent it flying too high. But plans to test it's capabilities without any restrictions are set to go-ahead soon. Mr Malloy explained: 'I am still ground testing at the moment only because I'm not 100 per cent sure what will happen so the straps are there to cover the unknown. I haven't had the pleasure of flying round the countryside yet. On the last weekend of April, the town of Brooklyn, Wisconsin holds the "Depot Days" festivities which include rides in privately-owned railroad "speeder" MoW cars on the out-of-service former Chicago & Northwestern line through town. The rides went ahead despite the inclement weather that weekend in 2009. Here we ride an original Canadian National Fairmont speeder (pictured at 6:47) from just north of State Highway 92 in Brooklyn (the rails are removed from both crossings in town) to the brand-new bridge and realigned track at Jefferson Street in Oregon. We were probably the first paying passengers to ride the rails across that bridge.

Day 7 had a little more in store then we were expecting. We started off in Orlando and headed to West Palm Beach to Palm Beach International Raceway, before our caravan down to Miami. The Blue Audi R8 Convertible had a blow out causing it to lose control crash. The Cobra held up well and lapped with the big dogs, coming in 8th place around the track, not bad for an 11 year old mustang running with a pack of exotics.

Part 2: The group of Rail Speeders is near Candler at the Oak Road crossing making their turnaround to head back to Ocala on the old ACL/SCL line that currently ends at a lumber yard a few hundred yards to the right from view of my filming. This area was touted back in the late 1960's and early 1970's as the place to be before Ocala boomed. The boom never happened and Ocala does not seem too much different than from what I remember as a child and from encounters since visiting every couple of years after our move to Orlando. For history buffs, about a mile from the crossing was an old motel called at different times Panorama Inn or Silver Lake Lodge was the motel of choice when folks like my parents bought a lot, and like the rail line going further south, has been demolished. The making of Silver Spring Shores into a major residential haven never really materialized. There are quite a few industrial parks and businesses in the area, but only a couple this far south have spurs from the rail line. I can only hope that Pinsly's Florida Northern Railroad will continue to serve the Silver Springs Shores/Candler, FL area for a long time to come.

A speeder (also known as railway motor car, putt-putt, track-maintenance car, crew car, jigger, trike, quad, trolley or inspection car, and also known as a draisine (although that can also be unpowered) in many other parts of the world) is a maintenance of way motorized vehicle formerly used on railroads around the world by track inspectors and work crews to move quickly to and from work sites.[1] Although it is slow compared to a train or car, it is called speeder because it is faster than a human-powered vehicle.
In the 1990s, speeders were replaced with trucks (usually pickup trucks or sport utility vehicles) using flanged wheels that could be lowered for on-rail, called road-rail vehicles. Now speeders are collected by hobbyists, who refurbish them and take them on outings organized by the North American Railcar Operators Association (NARCOA) in the USA and Canada and the Australian Society of Section Car Operators, Inc. in Australia.

Speeders in the movies[link]
The most famous speeder in a movie is, arguably, the Fairmont M19/M19AA that Buster Keaton rode across Canada in his 1965 film, The Railrodder. Keaton made tea, washed his laundry, hunted ducks and passed trains as he travelled across Canada. The Railrodder and its making-of documentary, Buster Keaton Rides Again, are still available from the National Film Board of Canada. One also makes an appearance in Wristcutters: A Love Story.
A speeder also features in the Russian film Stalker, where it is used to transport the protagonists into the heart of a forbidden area called The Zone, created in the aftermath of an alien landing.
