the lincoln project’s statement taking credit (??) for a stunt in downtown charlottesville today where they dressed in white shirts & khaki pants & stood outside glenn youngkin’s campaign bus with tiki torches should be a profuse fucking apology instead of whatever this is.

it would NEVER be appropriate to use that imagery to make a cheap political point at the expense of the people who’ve been terrorized by it, but they did it here in charlottesville at the exact moment the victims of the event they were satirizing were in court facing real nazis.

today of all days, as the people of charlottesville relive a very specific trauma, as people anxiously check social media desperately hoping the white supremacists in town for the trial haven’t drawn supporters… the lincoln project made a little joke about their pain.
