York - The Awakening (Remastered 03 Mix)
Download on iTunes: http://bit.ly/AwakeningPT1
Driven by warm atmosphere, deep, bouncy beats and waves of melody, is classic 'The Awakening'. Torsten Stenzel, the driving force behind the York project, is responsible for this authentic piece of musical history. Now that his Planet Love Records has joined forces with Armada Music, it's time to re-release this timeless beauty!
'The Awakening' was the first big hit of York, rocking the underground clubs as well as selling silver - more than 200.000 singles - in the UK. This one has been played thousands of times during sunset & sunrise on magical beaches, from Ibiza to Miami. A classic that's 12 years of age, but never fails to move us -- both emotionally and physically.

Anticipation for the forthcoming artist album of York rises with the release of 'Touched By God'. Fans of the typical York sound will discover a new pearl inside this deep, warm tune, hitting in right before summer.
Only a few months' of wait until the 'Islanders' album lands on dance land. One of the first sneak peeks of the album, is the promising 'Touched By God'. Its deep, proggy intro will make you flow right towards a minimalistic bassline and the tranquilizing melody builds all the way to a massive breakdown. A perfect highlight for the warm-up sets and after-parties.
The Steve Brain Mix builds further on the summer theme, with sun-drenched melody, a prog-house drive and the mind-shivering vocals of Caribbean singer Tamah Boston. The remix of Argentinean duo Xgenic is something else, kicking in with a massive big-room sound, hard-hitting chords and an even bigger doses of energy.

One of the best ways to explore York is on foot. A stroll down any snickelway, wall or ings opens you up to a whole world of discovery. This year, in conjunction with Welcome to Yorkshire’s #Walkshire campaign, we’re encouraging people to Love Walking in York.
If you are in Yorkshire and looking for things to do in York England, then watch our video as we walk through the centre of this incredible place, taking in the sights and sounds of the streets here.
The first thing that strikes you about York when you arrive here is just how beautiful and ancient it all feels. It really is like stepping into another world on some streets, most notably the famous Shambles and the area around York Minster
York England is a walled city in northeast England that was founded by the ancient Romans. Its huge 13th-century Gothic cathedral, York Minster, has medieval stained glass and 2 functioning bell towers. The City Walls form a walkway on both sides of the River Ouse. The Monk Bar gate houses an exhibition tracing the life of 15th-century Plantagenet King Richard III.
York is worth visiting at least once if you are in Yorkshire. The city has several historic landmarks and has a very romantic and scenic old town. With attractions like visiting the York Minster, the chocolate factory, the historic castle walls or the Shambles, you are in for a treat.
York was founded in 71 AD when Cerialis and the Ninth Legion constructed a military fortress (castra) on flat ground above the River Ouse near its junction with the River Foss. The fortress was later rebuilt in stone, covered an area of 50 acres, and was inhabited by 6,000 soldiers.
Perfectly placed half-way between London and Edinburgh and with the glorious Yorkshire Dales, North York Moors and Wolds right on the doorstep, York England is unlike any other English city. There’s thirty world-class museums you can explore, the best racecourse in the country and a thriving cultural scene, not forgetting, York is voted the best place to live in the UK by the Sunday Times. So, what are you waiting for? Book your break to York England and create your own adventure!
Like stepping back into the middle ages, the overhanging timber-framed houses and traditional shopfronts of The Shambles makes it one of the UK’s most historic (and picturesque) streets.
You can’t miss York Minster, one of the largest cathedrals in Northern Europe and also one of the most beautiful gothic cathedrals in the world.
You can reach York from London by train in 2 hours. Or from the city of Leeds, it is just a 20-minute train ride.
A place of extraordinary cultural wealth, visit York and you’ll discover a beautifully preserved medieval city that’s a must for York England history buffs. Step 2,000 years into the past as you wander the Gothic halls of York Minster Cathedral, delve into the city’s Viking past at the annual Jorvik Viking Festival, or explore history of a different kind at the National Railway Museum.
Trace the footsteps of William the Conquerer and enjoy mesmerising views from Clifford’s Tower, or dip into the eclectic array of independent boutiques nestled in the postcard-pretty 13th century timber buildings of The Shambles – York’s most beautiful street. Add to that a buzzing foodie scene and some of Britain’s most stunning scenery, and you’ll soon see why York’s the place to be. This guide to York should give you an idea of what it's like to wander the streets of York in the city centre of York England.
York is one of the most popular places to visit in the UK, and it’s no surprise – spend a day in York and chances are you’ll have walked past every type of architecture from every era in human history.

York is a walker’s paradise because most central streets in the historic district are for pedestrians only with many fascinating sights packed into a small area of just one square mile. Walking is definitely the best way to see this old city, so expect to do a lot of exploration on foot.
This town is surrounded by its original medieval high stone walls that protected it from attackers in the past and since then it's protected the town from modernization because you'll find that the old historic area within these walls is looking like it's about 500 years old and many of the buildings in fact are older.
The heart of town is completely free of automobiles, dedicated entirely to the pedestrian, filled with beautifully preserved buildings. This is not just a couple of streets without traffic, but an entire zone with a dozen small lanes that you can easily navigate on your own without fear of getting lost. While many towns in Europe have created such pedestrian zones, York was one of the first to make this transformation, and continues to expand that walking district.
The streets are narrow and wind in all directions with many old timber and plaster dwellings featuring overhanging stories and high-peaked red-tiled gables.
Today York is a lively city filled with culture, entertainment, shops, characters, legends and fine restaurants. The rich history comes to life in your visit because many of the old forts, palaces, churches and streets are preserved just as they were centuries ago, and several museums help tell that long story.
There is so much to see in this medieval gem you really could have fun for several days. You could easily find 100 things to do in your visit, so it is certainly worth spending at least three days to see it all. But if one day is all you can spare, we’re showing you how to squeeze in as much as possible.
There are so many wonderful sights to show you in York, England, such as the great cathedral towering over the medieval town and the famous narrow lane called the Shambles. York has one of the largest pedestrian zones in the country, filled with places to eat, and shop, and walk around. There is a street market every day and sometimes it's a very long market that takes up many city blocks.
You'll enjoy the scenic vistas along the river where you can sit at an outdoor café or take a boat ride. York is a great medieval city that's filled with lots of things to do and historic sites to enjoy.
We'll be taking you up into York castle and showing you the amazing medieval wall that's still standing and runs all the way around the city.
We'll spend most of our time strolling through this magnificent pedestrian zone with its old-fashioned buildings and modern shops. We'll take you on a big walk all around through the pedestrian center showing you the various attractive lanes, starting out with Petergate, one of the two or three main shopping streets.
Cars are not allowed in this area, that's called Within the Walls. There'll be some delivery vehicles in the morning, perhaps, and working vehicles with permits, but generally pedestrians are free to just stroll down the middle of the road here, making it a perfect place to meander.
It seems every few steps, you'll pass another place to eat - perhaps a nice French restaurant, or a snack shop, or maybe a pub.
It must be some kind of miracle these old buildings are preserved so well and then a testament to modern urban planning and the economy that they are thriving today with these businesses, all seeming to do very well.

Tracklist:
1.The Awakening (Class 1 Mix) (09:05)
2.The Awakening (Remasterd 03 Mix) (05:55)
3.The Awakening (Quake Radio Edit) (03:35)
4.The Awakening (Hiver & Hammer Remix) (08:20)

Chat rules
By using our chat room you are agreeing to the following :
Rules :
Insulting or intimidating behaviour of any kind, will NOT be tolerated. Nor will racism, sexism or any form of abuse or aggression directed towards a particular group or individual.
Swearing / profanity is not allowed. We have a mixture of age-groups in chat. Opinions will differ as to which words are acceptable and which are not. Please respect the opinions of others in this matter.
This includes abbreviations and words disguised with symbols and numbers.
Do not discuss or give personal details (especially email address, phone numbers or street address).
Have a suitable ONE username which respects the above rules. Multiple accounts are not allowed.
Additionally, the following guidelines will be applied at the discretion of the moderators :
This is railway-themed chatroom. Whilst chat needn't be "on-topic" all the time, we expect users to exercise some common sense and avoid posting pointless comments which are of no interest to others. Off-topic subjects shouldn't be allowed to take-over the chatroom, since that discourages the on-topic chat.
The cameras are not there to allow us to criticise or police those that work on the railway. Discussion of that sort is not appropriate.
Events involving injury or death on the railway are not suitable topics for discussion.
Politics, race, religion, sex and sexual orientation are not suitable topics for a rail-themed chatroom. Whilst these will inevitably be touched-upon in passing, opinions must not be expressed about these divisive topics.
Promotion of products and services, especially those which compete with Railcam UK, are not allowed.
Repeated links to sites, including YouTube, Flickr and Facebook pages are considered spamming and not allowed.
Deliberately spreading false information or "gen" will not be tolerated.
Use English only. Use a translator if required. Do not post in CAPITALS - this is interpreted as shouting.
Chat needs to be inclusive. It's for everyone to use, so do not make it about you.
The above lists are not exhaustive and moderators may ask you to stop a particular subject or pattern of behaviour - please respect such a request.
In all but extreme cases, a moderator will warn any user who does not follow the above rules & guidelines before resorting to a "timeout" or ban. Bans will usually be short in the first instance, but can be permanent where it is warranted.
Derogatory comments towards the moderators, Railcam or any of the partners and feeds will not be tolerated.
Moderator decision is final. If you disagree, email us. DO NOT argue about it in chat. Do not openly criticise moderators in chat. That will only result in a ban
