London History Walking Tour - Royal Greenwich
One of my favourite day trips in London is to Royal Greenwich - where east meets west and Old historical Royalty meets new modern art and innovation. Greenwich has been at the centre of the world for hundreds of years and you won't want to miss all these lovely places to see.
First there’s the peninsula where you can see modern art by Anthony Gormley, Alex Chinnek and more, stretching all along The Line as far as the Olympic park.
Take a trip up the River Thames to the place where Admiral Lord Nelson’s body was taken after the Battle of Trafalgar, Les Miserables was filmed and the first observatory in England was built by Sir Christopher Wren.
Climb the O2 centre for spectacular views of London or see a global sporting event or music concert inside the dome.
Take an Emirates cable car...

Lana Del Rey - Greenwich
Are you back in Greenwich dropping acid?
Are you at the archive watching television?
Did you leave for Battery with your weed?
In your leather looking like Greg Kinnear
Are you still the king of rock n roll, babe?
Do you miss hearing me sing
Callin' me Lana
And did you take your run today,
On that west side highway?
Do you miss your baby momma?
Blue hydrangea
Will my forever love never come back to me?
Does it feel like yesterday to you, yet?
How quickly you forget how I made you smile
I remember everything
Diamond horseshoe wedding ring
And tire light
Blue hydrangea
Will my forever love never return to me?

Greenwich knife battle - Thugs slash each other with giant blades in broad daylight
THIS is the sickening moment thugs slashed at each other with giant blades in broad daylight - leaving a man battling for his life.
Neighbours screamed for the four brawlers to stop as they fought with knives, machetes and a hammer during a horrifying row on the streets of London.
Cops dashed to the scene after violence exploded in North Greenwich, leaving terrified locals begging for help.
But one man was critically hurt - and is facing a fight for his life in hospital.
A witness shot film of the men hacking at each other during the "terrible" brawl.
The disturbing footage shows the yobs lunging at each other with knives.
One, who is stripped to the waist and barefoot, holds a huge machete in one hand and a hammer in the other.
A second, in grey jogging bottoms and a navy t-shirt, ...

Things To See And Do In Greenwich, London
Greenwich is one of the most beautiful places in London that you definitely have to visit (…and, a lot of times, probably haven’t even thought of). It’s super easy to get to, packed to the brim with so much fascinating history (like, did you know Henry the 8th was born here? The Royal Palace used to be here once upon a time) and it’s just filled with so many architectural beauties! There are so many reasons why you have to visit Greenwich and we finally got round to exploring this beautiful neighbourhood of London to show you just why!
Video created in partnership with Visit London and Visit Greenwich (thoughts, opinions, experiences and all that, are all ours... 😁)

One of the Best Views in London! | Greenwich Old Town | Greenwich Market
Monika and I went for a ride into Greenwich for lunch at the famous old market, then grabbed a coffee at a coffee shop/art studio, before heading up to the top of the Royal Observatory hill for one of the best viewing spots in London!
This is a superb spot for bikers and everyone in general- it is a brilliant place to spend a day. You get a feeling of space, a beautiful park, stunning views, parking’s very easy, there’s a ridiculous amount of stuff to see and there are loads of coffee spots, plus you’re right in-between Greenwich and Blackheath for some real back in the day, lost in time London vibes- places that have maintained their old character.
Greenwich is, in my mind, one of the absolute top places to visit n London.
I hope you enjoy the video!:)

Greenwich is now the capital district of what is now officially called the 'Royal Borough of Greenwich' since 2012.
In terms of domes around the world, the Millennium Dome is the biggest. The dome is 365 metres in diameter and 52 metres high with those 12 yellow supporting poles running through it. This represents days, weeks and months of the year.
The Emirates Air Line looks quite slow but it takes 10 minutes to cross the water and they double that speed in rush hour for the commuters.
The Cutty Sark was built in 1869 and sailed from London to Shanghai the next year full of wine, beer and spirit exports. It came back from Shanghai full to the brim with over a million pounds of tea.
The Greenwich Foot Tunnel took 3 years to build from 1899 to 1902. The very industrial steel panel section at the north end of the tunnel is the result of steel repairs after Second World War bomb damage. The tunnel is classed as a public highway which means, by law, it must be kept open 24 hours a day, everyday.
The name Greenwich dates back more than 1100 years. The 'Green' part of the name is self explanatory but the 'nwich' or 'wich' part refers to a 'harbor' or 'trading place'.
Greenwich has a lot of restaurants, markets, pubs, places to see and things to practically do and partake in. Of the 32 London boroughs, there are 4 with royal status. For 80 years there were only 3 but Greenwich was allowed to join the club to become the fourth in 2012 by order of the Queen. Greenwich once tried to apply for city status to become the 'City of Greenwich' but that got refused.
Greenwich is very well connected by transport. There are a lot of bus routes connected by a central bus station, boat services to Central London and 5 different types of train station serving different parts of the district.
Greenwich Park itself has always had 'royal' status along with Green Park and Hyde Park and some others. Some of the trees you can see in the park are over 350 years old.
King Edward the II asked Christopher Wren to design the Royal Observatory for some serious astronomy. They built it in 1675 for £520 and its still the largest telescope in the UK. The 'Public Standards of Length' on the wall in the park physically demonstrate precise lengths from the imperial measurement system.
Before the Observatory, there wasn't really any official, standardised way of measuring time around the world. Over centuries, sailors decided it made sense to sync their clocks to the already established
'Greenwich Mean Time' or 'GMT' which is now just known as Universal Time.

A second, in grey jogging bottoms and a navy t-shirt, can be seen with a carving-style kitchen knife.
Neighbours can be seen in the video dashing onto their balconies as the men shout.
One woman screams out: "It's not worth it, stop it. F***ing stop it, all of you."
At one point, the man with the machete appears to slash a second fighter's wrist.
