I'm a hunter - I've been hunting in AK for decades. I read an op-ed in & I want to underscore its message: respect our wild game by not wasting it. I eat every part of moose, save for the lungs. Wasting these magnificent creatures dishonors our connection to the land.

Killing for the sake of the kill & rushing back to city life dishonors these magnificent creatures. We must find a use for every part of a moose. I’m asking you to embrace consuming all of it, which is not only a part of sustainability, but also respects our connection to nature.

Praise from for commentary writer (and Alaskan author) Chantelle Pence. It's a good piece, and it was a welcome respite from the Mask Mandate Wars of 2021.

  7. I want to thank Alaska's Chantelle Pence for writing this piece. It touched me, and I hope it serves as a reminder to all of us to respect Alaska's wild game by finding a use for everything wild animals give us. Read her full op-ed here: via

Happy ! On this day in 1867, the Territory of Alaska was formally transferred from Russia to the United States. I love our great state dearly, and every day it is my humble honor to be Alaska's sole representative in the House. God Bless Alaska!

Today we remember Gen. Colin Powell, who helped guide our nation with courage & distinction. Whether it was through his service in Vietnam, to his tenure as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs and later as Sec of State, his story will undoubtedly inspire future generations of leaders.🇺🇸
