In 2021, now more then ever, America needs a strong new voice to be a champion for reason, honest, sane , and civic thinking. If you go through Twitter, Fox News, OAN, and other media outlets you will hear some of the most far out, tinfoil hat wearing, crazy conspiracy theory, lies that you would think would have never came out of the opinions and minds of Americans. It’s scary because these believers are in every state in our Country and it all originates from former President Trump.
Unfortunately, Donald Trump and his legions have people believing his lies so deeply that they attacked the US Capitol on January 6th in hopes of turning over the election. There are people still today who think the election was stolen. There are people who believe he willl be put back in office before the end of the year. This is not going away and it will get worse before it gets better.
Besides that, we have a Government that seems to be at a stalemate with RED VS BLUE and neither side willing to give in and both looking to take the other one down at any cost. That cost is paid by the American people, by the way, You and I and all those who voted for this bunch of self important stiff suits who, mostly, have their own interests at heart. They make grandiose promises but seem to get amnesia the moment they put their hand on the Bible and take their oath.
Every day you see them on Twitter slinging mud at each other and acting like they truly care about our Country. It’s just a dog and pony show to give the appearance of them working to help all of us. In the end they are working for big time donors and special interest groups. They line their pockets while our pockets seem to get emptier and our savings dwindle. Those in power reap the benefits off the backs of those put them their.
In the end it’s our fault…all of it. We elected these individuals. We donated and volunteered. We went to the polls and voted them in power. We fell for their lies. If you want to look for blame look no further then the morning mirror.
BUT there is hope of redemption.
We need to be smarter voters. We need to do our research. We need to reach out to our local and federal candidates and talk with them. With the social media becoming such a important political tool, it’s easy to reach out and see who is running for your party. Go to their Twitter, see who is active, see who answers back, and get to know the candidates. I find a lot of them answer back personally. A lot of them take the time daily to answer questions and converse with their future constituents. Some like to do Zoom town Halls, while others record a lot of videos conversing on different issues, and others post multiple times a day about issues or what’s on their minds. We need to mine all this information to make an informed decision. We have to stop voting for famous names or polished looks. We have to stop voting on who we think everyone else is voting for. This is your vote. It is a sacred duty that far too many of us don’t take serious enough. You would never buy a car without looking at it. You wouldn’t buy a house without touring it. Why would you vote for someone you barely know?
We have mid terms coming up in 2022. There is still time to research and reach out and discover the ins and outs of, not only the candidates campaign but their character and honesty. Don’t forget WE THE PEOPLE hold the real power. Use your power responsibly.
