  2. JUST NOW: 1st time in Australia’s history. Liberals just voted in Parliament to override the Speaker’s agreement to refer Christian Porter to the Privileges Committee. That’s right. Liberals actually voted to say it’s OK for an MP to get $1 million in secret donations.

Mystery donors paid up to $1 million of Christian Porter’s law fees. He won’t say who. Liberal Speaker Tony Smith found there was a prima facie case for it to go to the Privileges Committee. The Liberal Party voted to block it. This has never happened. Not since 1901.

Ridiculous that the only climate announcements Morrison has made are: 1. To turn up to a conference he should be at anyway 2. That the Govt is meeting with themselves, to make a plan, after 8 years in power. A wasted decade of lost economic opportunities.

The Speaker decided that Christian Porter receiving up to $1m from a 'blind trust' was worthy of sending to the Privileges Committee for investigation. Of course, the Morrison Government voted to stop any investigation. This is what corruption looks like.

Every member of the House who votes against the motion to refer Porter's anonymous trust to the Privileges Committee is voting against integrity in politics. Every one. Their vote and their cynicism will be remembered on election day.

The Morrison Government has spent $200 million on consultancies in just 3 months — on track to be the highest consultancy spend the country has ever seen.
