    Turns out that six months was actually five years. So the Wheel has been there for 13 years, but only operational for seven. Good god, what a waste of time and money for everyone involved.

    Let's not forget the Wheel's first summer, when the steel twisted in the heat and it had to be shut down for like six months for repairs.

    Let's be careful with language. Millions of us live quite normally with underlying conditions. If it is used as a measure of risk, fine. If it is used to somehow mitigate responsibility for bad outcomes, that's unacceptable.

    Rate of hospitalisations from the Delta outbreak in NSW is 3x what has been reported. Hospital system is pushed to the brink. 80 per cent of staffed ICU beds occupied in NSW. In Victoria, it is 91 per cent. Ambulance service cannot keep up with demand.

    The replies to this are as enraging as they are depressing.

    From NSW, and I mean this sincerely, I don't understand why Victorians would particularly blame the PM, beyond the vaccine "strollout" and the whole "PM for NSW" thing. Is there more to it than that, that I don't get?
