George Glenn Jones (September 12, 1931 – April 26, 2013) was an American musician, singer and songwriter who achieved international fame for his long list of hit records, including his most well known song "He Stopped Loving Her Today", as well as his distinctive voice and phrasing. For the last 20 years of his life, Jones was frequently referred to as the greatest living country singer. Country music scholar Bill C. Malone writes, "For the two or three minutes consumed by a song, Jones immerses himself so completely in its lyrics, and in the mood it conveys, that the listener can scarcely avoid becoming similarly involved." Waylon Jennings expressed a similar opinion in his song "It's Alright": "If we all could sound like we wanted to, we'd all sound like George Jones." The shape of his nose and facial features earned Jones the nickname "The Possum."
Born in Texas, Jones first heard country music when he was seven and was given a guitar at the age of nine. He married his first wife, Dorothy Bonvillion, in 1950, and was divorced in 1951. He served in the United States Marine Corps until his discharge in 1953. He married Shirley Ann Corley in 1954. In 1959, Jones released a cover version of "White Lightning" by J. P. Richardson, which launched his career as a singer. His second marriage ended in divorce in 1968; he married fellow country music singer Tammy Wynette a year later. Many years of alcoholism caused his health to deteriorate severely and led to his missing many performances, earning him the nickname "No Show Jones." After his divorce from Wynette in 1975, Jones married his fourth wife, Nancy Sepulvado, in 1983 and became mostly sober. Jones died in 2013, aged 81, from hypoxic respiratory failure. During his career, Jones had more than 150 hits, both as a solo artist and in duets with other artists.
Air Marshal Sir George Jones, KBE, CB, DFC (18 October 1896 – 24 August 1992) was a senior commander in the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF). He rose from private soldier in World War I to air marshal in 1948, and served as Chief of the Air Staff from 1942 to 1952, the longest continuous tenure of any RAAF chief. Jones was a surprise appointee to the Air Force’s top role, and his achievements in the position were coloured by a divisive relationship during World War II with his nominal subordinate, the head of RAAF Command, Air Vice-Marshal William Bostock.
During World War I, Jones saw action as an infantryman in the Gallipoli Campaign of 1915, before transferring to the Australian Flying Corps a year later. Originally a mechanic, he undertook flying training in 1917 and was posted to a fighter squadron in France. He achieved seven victories to become an ace, and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross. After a short spell in civilian life following World War I, he joined the newly formed RAAF in 1921, and rose steadily through training and personnel commands prior to World War II.
George Alexander Jones (born 21 April 1945 in Radcliffe, Lancashire, England), is an English footballer who played as a forward in the Football League.
Vice Admiral George Clarence Jones CB (24 October 1895 - 8 February 1946) was a Royal Canadian Navy officer who served as Chief of the Naval Staff from 1944 to 1946.
Jones joined the Royal Canadian Navy in 1911 and saw action in various ships during the First World War. He became Senior Naval Officer Halifax in 1929, Commanding Officer of the destroyer HMCS Skeena in 1932 and Senior Naval Officer Esquimalt in 1934. He went on to be Director of Naval Operations and Training in 1936 and as Captain (D) Canadian Flotilla in 1938.
He served in the Second World War as Commodore Commanding the Halifax Force from 1940, as Commanding Officer Atlantic Coast from later that year and as Chief of the Naval Staff from 1944 until dying in office in 1946.

His father was Clem Jones, who was editor of the Express & Star in Wolverhampton for a decade from 1960, and his brother is Nicholas Jones, the former political and industrial correspondent of BBC News.
George Alfred Jones (1866 – 8 April 1938) was an Australian politician.
He was born in Inverell to schoolmaster Robert Brown and Helen Moore. He married Frances Louisa Durnford around 1891 at Surry Hills; they had three children. A printer, he was president of the Typographical Association from 1897 to 1901, and worked with various newspapers. In 1902 he was elected to the New South Wales Legislative Assembly as the Labor member for Inverell. He transferred to Gwydir in 1904 and served until his defeat in 1913. Jones died at Bondi in 1938.

Well, I break the dishes and I burn the steak
I spilled all the coffee that I try to make
Tried to do some sewin' stuck the needle in my hand
That's how it is when the wife runs off with another man.
Monday I washed when the sun was a-shining bright
I used too much bleach an' everything came out white
This house looks like the garbage hit the fan
That's how it is when the wife runs off with another man.
TV dinner, chicken pot pie is all I've had to eat
I've lost so much weight from living on hate till my shoes don't fit my feet
But still I've got to do the best I can
That's how it is when the wife runs off with another man.
--- Instrumental ---
Tried to iron my shirt but I had the iron too hot
Now there's a hole in the back of the best dang shirt I've got
Nothing turns out right the way I planned
And that's how it is when the wife runs off with another man.
TV dinner, chicken pot pie is all I've had to eat
I've lost so much weight from living on hate till my shoes don't fit my feet
But still I've got to do the best I can
That's how it is when the wife runs off with another man.
