01. Refine your resume

Your resume should be clean, succinct, and easy to read. For more tips, see our Resume 101 for Students.

02. Do your research

Show us you have a solid understanding of Twitter and our products. Here are some resources to get you started.

03. Come with questions

Have some questions ready about Twitter, the role you’re applying for, or the team you’ll be working with. It lets us know you’re interested and enthusiastic about working with us.

04. Think Aloud

By verbalizing your thoughts, your interviewer can understand your approach to a problem and jump in to guide you when needed.

05. Tell us why

We’d love to know why you want to intern with us — and the more thorough and specific the answer, the better.

Internships

Where can I intern?Currently, Twitter's internship program is 100% virtual. When our offices reopen, we have internship opportunities around the globe, including San Francisco, Boston, New York, Boulder, Seattle, Washington DC, London, Dublin, Japan, Singapore, and India .

When does Twitter have internships? We will host our virtual internship program in the summer (June - September) and fall (August - December). Twitter also supports students in co-op programs.

What does virtual internship mean?Twitter’s 2022 Internship Program is currently virtual. This means you will perform your work from a private space in your home, rather than coming into a Twitter office. Curious about a virtual internship? Check-out Tweets directly from our Terns about their experience being virtual by searching #TernsTakeover on Twitter.

More about virtual internships:

  • How will I receive the support I need from my manager/mentor/teammates?
With all Tweeps working remotely due to COVID-19, our teams have already had a lot of practice with managing, engaging, and supporting a remote workforce. We’ve also produced and shared tons of resources to help our managers and teams - and these tools will be available to you too!
  • Will I still get to experience Twitter culture?
Yes! We are working hard to ensure your virtual internship program incorporates aspects of the unique and fun Twitter culture by giving you a taste of what it is like to be a Tweep.
  • Will there be a chance to meet other Twitter interns
Yes! The Early Career team is planning virtual programming that will allow you to connect with Twitter Interns from around the globe.
  • Will there be a chance to bond with my team? With other Tweeps?
Yes! Twitter is actively providing creative ways to virtually connect with Tweeps. Teams have been connecting through things such as virtual team lunches or weekly coffee chats.

Are there internships for undergrad first-year students? No, but we do have #EarlyBird, a five-day virtual program for first year computer science students who identify as black, Hispanic/Latinx and/or Native American. Learn more about #EarlyBird in the above programs section.

How about undergrad second-year students?Second-year students can apply to Twitter Academy, which is a 12-week summer internship designed for historically underrepresented second-year computer science students (black, Hispanic/Latinx and/or Native American) interested in gaining hands-on and real-life experience in the tech industry. To learn more please check out the above programs section.

I applied and didn’t get it — what now?Try again! You can submit once per season. If you reapply in Fall 2022 for 2023 opportunities, your resume should show new experiences (like a new internship or extracurricular project).

What if I’m not enrolled in school right now?If you aren't enrolled in school when you apply, you aren't eligible for our intern opportunities.
