Congress appoints Bhupesh Baghel as senior observer for UP assembly polls

Earlier this year, Baghel was appointed as observer for the Assam assembly elections, in which Congress got 50 seats out of a total 126 seats. In the 2016 assembly polls, Congress won 26 seats in Assam.

Maoist violence highest in Chhattisgarh in 2020, NCRB data reveals

Chhattisgarh govt yet to take action on submissions by Sarkeguda judicial panel

In the Sarkeguda encounter, 17 people were killed in June 2012 after which a judicial commission was formed, which in turn submitted its report in December 2019. In the Edesmeta encounter, eight tribals including four children were allegedly killed by security forces in May 2013.
