A day after Income Tax (I-T) authorities carried out raids at residences and offices of the relatives and sugar factories connected to deputy chief minister and Nationalist Congress Party leader Ajit Pawar, the party took an aggressive stand against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led Central government.

Bypolls in Maharashtra rural local bodies: BJP ahead but loses seats to MVA partners
Results of the much-anticipated local body bypolls held in six districts on Tuesday to fill seats vacated by Other Backward Class (OBC) candidates revealed that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) suffered losses from its previous showing in the district council elections held shortly before the pandemic started, but emerged as the single largest party over the Congress, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and Shiv Sena.

At least 17 killed in Maharashtra due to heavy rain in two days
The remnants of cyclone Gulab resulted in heavy rain in the whole of central Maharashtra and parts of Vidarbha, Konkan and other regions over the past two days. The havoc led to the deaths of at least 17 people, most being in central Maharashtra, while hundreds of villagers have been relocated to safer places.

Maharashtra bats for Kanjurmarg plot for Metro at Niti Aayog meet
The Maharashtra government on Tuesday batted for an amicable solution on transfer of Kanjurmarg land for the proposed integrated car depot of various Metro lines at Kanjurmarg, saying it would help save huge cost of land acquisition, construction and preserve the forest.
