Some major professional news! The Will Bunch Newsletter launches this month. I'm so excited: It mixes the type of work I do in the Inquirer with the insanity of what I post here, plus even more from my unbuttoned mind I'd be so thrilled if you sign up

That's 34 blown saves for the Phillies, tying the major-league record.

What salmon are you buying? Do you believe the labels saying it is "all natural,” “sustainably sourced,” and “from Maine.” Court documents allege a huge provider put those labels on salmon that was from farms outside the US. It gets worse.

Remember that fought HARD against the Child Tax Credit. Maybe give him a call and ask why he wants kids to go without winter boots while he hands our tax dollars to his billionaire pals (who probably already have winter boots...)

For a news org that seems to have spent thousands of hours in Ohio diners talking to Trump voters, the NYT still has literally no freakin' clue into why people hate them so much

Two 15 years olds from the same Chicago school shot and killed within a period of four hours. That was Tuesday and they're already forgotten. So I'm proposing a new city tourism slogan: "Chicago: Please excuse our violence. We certainly do!" My column:

If crime is down, why is murder up -- by a lot? Forget the "muggings," corner drug wars of yesteryear. Today's shootings are too much rage, too many guns, and too few checks on bad behavior We need to redefine murder before we can solve it. My new column

We need to “look more broadly at what can be done to reduce societal anger and the need for retribution” — and I couldn’t agree more. I think a piece of the puzzle is how we’ve come to normalize rage online, tbh. People who think it’s always healthy and righteous are wrong.

We asked incarcerated people what might have prevented them from committing the crimes that landed them behind bars. Respondents said that affordable housing, a living wage, and mental health care would have made the most impact.

When people are shooting at baby showers, HS football games and Pat's Steaks, America has a murder problem. That *crime* is down only shows this isn't economic, but all about rage..and too many guns Let's think differently about murder. My new column

  13. See what I did there. OK, go Phils -- but unless they make a miracle run and win the World Series with their 84-78 record then wholesale changes are needed

Nola is a curse on this franchise in every possible way. I pray they trade him in the off-season for some prospects, as the Phillies desperately need to rebuild their dreadful farm system and I don't care if that hurts them in 2022

It is normal in sports to hate *your team* that you root for as much as I hate the Phillies right now? Not "the beloved institution," but the wretched human beings (not you, Bryce) they've hired to wear their uniform. This feeling is getting hard to work around

A thoughtful piece on gun violence in America. It's a problem that's driven, in a major way, by disputes--on highways, at supermarkets, at social gatherings. In different times, these disputes may have ended with harsh words or fistfights. Now, too often, they end in death. /1
