    Welp. Here's some schools news for your Saturday. There's a new temporary injunction on the vaccine mandate for NYC school staff. For now, vaccine or test requirement is in place. NYC officials say they're seeking "speedy resolution." The mandate was to begin on Tuesday.

    Mayor Bill de Blasio said he plans to visit Rikers Island, following mounting pressure from lawmakers who say that a humanitarian crisis at the jail complex has spun out of control. He has not visited the jail complex since 2017.

    On , Mayor de Blasio is asked by a caller about what's happening with the city's gifted and talented program. He says the old program was not inclusive but that he will be announcing a new version at the end of the month. (Doesn't sound like he's scrapping G&T)
