TOTW: True Lies

Telling lies can be a matter of survival. When is it okay to lie to others? When is it okay to lie to ourselves?

Everybody lies. And if you don’t, you’re lying.

This everyday tool of deception can save your ass or ruin your life depending on how you use it. And we have good reasons to lie: manipulation, self-defense, avoiding consequences. For someone stepping outside the boundaries of the law, relationships, work expectations, or simple social graces, telling a tall tale can be easier than facing the music. Fortunately, our collective compulsion to not tell the truth has grayed the moral waters of even our most definitive institutions – when asked if lying is wrong, a shaky “ehhhh, it depends” echos from the Church halls and Scientific offices. Even courts with perjury laws rarely enforce them.

Afghanarchism

Don't fall for the propaganda.

from Counterpunch by Nicky Reid

What American Radicals Can Learn From the Pashtuns

There is a narrative commonly held by observers in the west that the Afghans are a people defined by perpetual warfare. Like many stereotypes, this one comes with a cornel [sic] of truth. After all, the people of Afghanistan just got done throttling the bare hind quarters of the greatest empire Satan ever devised for the last twenty years with little more than rusty Soviet junk and raw grit. The rural highlands of southern Afghanistan have certainly fostered a distinctly martial culture that has aided its people in resisting generations of conquest, but to simply sum these people up by the wars they’ve fought completely misses the context of why they fight and what they were fighting for.

Spain 1936, Ethiopia 2021: the fight against fascism continues…

September 19, 2021
http://cnt-ait.info/2021/09/19/spain-1936-ethiopia-2021/

Eighty years ago, at the concentration camp Vernet d’Ariège (France), Tecle HAGOS died. The plaque on his grave reads « August 19, 1941, Ethiopian ». Not much is known about his life, except that he was probably part of a group of a dozen students from the Horn of Africa who had traveled to Spain in summer 1936. The announcement of a Revolution, made by workers and peasants, ordinary people which had triumphed over Fascism on July 19, 1936, gave them some hope, they who had seen this same Fascism seize their land in Africa few months before.

Anarchist Views on Communism, on Immediatism podcast

By specific request, Immediatism has four readings of texts giving anarchist views of communism. The first two episodes (624 and 625) express pro-communist views and the second two (628 and 629) are anti-communist. Of these four, the one receiving the most attention is episode 625 "The Relevance of Stirner to Anarcho-Communists," by Matty Thomas. The other authors are Dr. Bones (pro-), Apio Ludd (anti-), and Conspiracy of Cells of Fire (anti-).

ORGANIZE , ORGANIZE , AGAIN Organize!

Anarchists and Religion and About the 'Telegram Riots' Conspiracy Uncovered by State Authorities

But we appeal to you, comrades, literally with a prayer. It doesn't matter whether it is a public appeal or a secret conspiracy. Observe anonymity measures and safety precautions: TOR, VPN, SIM cards purchased without a passport or with false data, no real information in your account, clearly separate telegram accounts for personal communication and political struggle. Principle: do not be afraid, but also do not substitute. And may the force be with us. For each of their blows, the answer is one: ORGANIZE , ORGANIZE , AGAIN Organize!

Understanding Anti-Authoritarian Strategy in the Apocalyptic Era

Like Bennedict Spinoza saw God not in a separate realm, but always 'exists' everywhere. This concept is suitable for radical movements, especially anti-authoritarians, to understand the reality in the era of globalization of capital. To critically understand every root of hierarchy and domination and capture a vision of equality with radical differences, in order to carry out a new strategy towards a life free from the shackles of capital and the state.

Write an anarchist prisoner today!

via Enough 14

In November 2020 a series of co-ordinated raids against 325.nostate.net were executed by Counter-Terrorism cops in UK as part of “Operation Adream”. Several properties in the South-West of England were searched and one person was arrested and charged under the Terrorist Act. The charges are administration of 325.nostate.net, funding of terrorism through the website and dissemination of and collection of material useful to terrorists.
