He was the commander of the famous 1st Polish Armoured Division, and later of the I Polish Army Corps under Allied Command in 1942鈥45.

8-year old R贸偶yczka Go藕dziewska was born #OTD in 1936. She served as the youngest combat nurse during the Warsaw Uprising in 1944. Always brave and helpful. She managed to survive the Uprising, died at the age of 53.
