Columbus is Ohio’s state capital. The city’s Scioto Mile is a string of parks on both sides of the Scioto River, with a huge interactive fountain and trails. On the west bank, the COSI science center offers hands-on exhibits and a planetarium. Downtown, the Columbus Museum of Art includes American and European paintings and a sculpture garden. The German Village area has restored brick houses built by 1800s settlers.

My story so far........
I was raised in the West and became an adult in the East.
I set out on my own at 18 to see the world, bouncing around Asia and North America. Working my way through school, I never lived anywhere too long. I found my calling as a teacher and ended up staying abroad for many years. While I've had a chance to explore Europe, places I consider home are Washington DC, Seoul, Beijing, Memphis, and Columbus. After 20 years of exploring, I'm ready to share my adventures and wanderlust. The road ahead is never a straight line, but a path that zigs and zags, leading you to amazing places, people, and experiences you could never imagine. Be flexible and open minded, embracing the uncertainty of life and letting the current wisk you away........

After growing up in Central Ohio, the natural progression is to move to Columbus, but this was a very different town in the early 2000s. After surviving the Great Recession, Columbus has been on an absolute tear. While the recession was rough, we tended to fare better than many other cities partially due to the diverse amount of employers in the area. That, along with a focus on redevelopment of areas close to Downtown, population growth and the relatively cheap cost of living have helped buoy the Central Ohio area.
It doesn't seem that long ago in 2009 when residents were stoked to get Yuengling Lager to the area. Fast forward a short decade and today we have over 50 local breweries and our own "Ale Trail". That is just one of the fantastic changes.
Leaving for ten years, I left more or less a cow town and returned to a City bustling with boutique shops, coffee houses and restaurants, a renewed focus on fitness and somehow it seemed sunnier. In fact, it was such a cool city that we decided to stay.

Columbus, Ohio — The Columbus Division of Police released body camera footage, two days after 27-year-old Miles Jackson was fatally shot in an exchange of gunfire with Columbus police and Mount Carmel St. Ann’s hospital security on April 12, 2021. At 12:11pm , Westerville Police notified Columbus Police that WPD had “one of your wanted subjects at St. Ann’s hospital.” The operator identified the subject as Miles M. Jackson, date of birth 12/5/93. She informed Columbus Police that Jackson was found sleeping on a bench outside of a bank, and was taken to the hospital after a suspected relapse related to a drug overdose. She informed Columbus Police that Jackson has an open domestic violence warrant out of case, with additional warrants for assault, falsification, resisting arrest, drug possession, and weapons under disability.
At 12:41 Columbus Police Officers Ryan Krichbaum and Andrew Howe are dispatched to St. Ann’s to take Jackson into custody. The second video from Officer Krichbaum’s body worn camera starts at 1:42pm., Officers Krichbaum and Howe are seen preparing Jackson fortransport to the Franklin County jail. The officers are seen searching Jackson’s pockets. Officer Krichbaum appears to discover something and signals to Officer Howe. He says, “Get his arms behind his back right now,” and a struggle between the officers and Jackson begins. During the struggle, Jackson can be heard saying "I'm giving it to you man." Police said the video shows Krichbaum tasing Jackson, taking him to the ground, where he continued to resist.
A short time later, police said the video shows Jackson's gun fire. Police said the bullet visibly left Jackson's pocket and Krichbaum is seen struggling to disarm him. Howe is seen in the video firing his gun, but it malfunctioned. After the initial shots were fired, Jackson is down on the ground with officers pointing guns at him. Jackson is ordered to put his hands in the air several dozen times over the course of the next five minutes. Jackson told officers that he was leaning on the gun at one point. A Taser is eventually used on Jackson again. After the Taser was fired, a gun was fired, followed by a series of gunshots. Officers are then heard calling for medics to assist Jackson. An initial investigation by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation confirmed that Jackson was armed with a gun and fired shots.

Downtown Columbus, Ohio
Downtown Columbus is the Central Business District of Columbus, Ohio, United States. The area centers on the intersection of Broad and High streets, with the northeast corners being known simple as Broad & High by the surrounding businesses and media. Downtown as a whole encompasses all the area inside the inner belt and is home to most of the largest buildings in Columbus. The State Capitol is located on the southeast corner of Broad & High, in Capitol Square. Downtown is also home to Columbus State Community College, Franklin University, Columbus College of Art and Design, Grant Medical Center, Capital University Law School, as well as the main branch of the Columbus Metropolitan Library, the Main Street Bridge and many parks. Downtown has many neighborhoods or "districts", but it can easily be separated into three main areas; The Discovery District, High Street Corridor, and the Riverfront. The Short North, Italian Village, and Victorian Village are directly north of Downtown. Olde Towne East, and the historic King-Lincoln District are directly east, while the Brewery District and German Village are directly south of Downtown. Franklinton is to the west of Downtown, with a portion of Franklinton in Downtown. In the northwest area is the Arena District, a mixed-use development centered on Nationwide Arena, the home of the Columbus Blue Jackets. The Arena District also includes the baseball stadium Huntington Park and the Lifestyle Communities Pavilion.

Ohio is the debut studio album by American rapper Stalley. The album was released on October 27, 2014, by Maybach Music Group and Atlantic Records. The album features guest appearances from Nipsey Hussle, Rick Ross, August Alsina, Ty Dolla Sign, Rashad and De La Soul. The album was supported by the singles "Always Into Something", "Jackin' Chevys" and "One More Shot".

In July 2012, Stalley announced he had begun recording his debut album, saying: "We're workin' on an album right now. I'm in the studio. On August 22, 2014, he announced the album would be titled Ohio in a vlog, saying: "The sound of my current music is intelligent truck music. It’s a sound that’s built for the cars. The German Village area has restored brick houses built by 1800s settlers.

I was raised in the West and became an adult in the East.
I set out on my own at 18 to see the world, bouncing around Asia and North America. Working my way through school, I never lived anywhere too long. I found my calling as a teacher and ended up staying abroad for many years. While I've had a chance to explore Europe, places I consider home are Washington DC, Seoul, Beijing, Memphis, and Columbus. After 20 years of exploring, I'm ready to share my adventures and wanderlust. The road ahead is never a straight line, but a path that zigs and zags, leading you to amazing places, people, and experiences you could never imagine. Be flexible and open minded, embracing the uncertainty of life and letting the current wisk you away........

After growing up in Central Ohio, the natural progression is to move to Columbus, but this was a very different town in the early 2000s. After surviving the Great Recession, Columbus has been on an absolute tear. While the recession was rough, we tended to fare better than many other cities partially due to the diverse amount of employers in the area. That, along with a focus on redevelopment of areas close to Downtown, population growth and the relatively cheap cost of living have helped buoy the Central Ohio area.
It doesn't seem that long ago in 2009 when residents were stoked to get Yuengling Lager to the area. Fast forward a short decade and today we have over 50 local breweries and our own "Ale Trail". That is just one of the fantastic changes.
Leaving for ten years, I left more or less a cow town and returned to a City bustling with boutique shops, coffee houses and restaurants, a renewed focus on fitness and somehow it seemed sunnier. In fact, it was such a cool city that we decided to stay.

Leaving for ten years, I left more or less a cow town and returned to a City bustling with boutique shops, coffee houses and restaurants, a renewed focus on fitness and somehow it seemed sunnier. In fact, it was such a cool city that we decided to stay.

Columbus, Ohio — The Columbus Division of Police released body camera footage, two days after 27-year-old Miles Jackson was fatally shot in an exchange of gunfire with Columbus police and Mount Carmel St. Ann’s hospital security on April 12, 2021. At 12:11pm , Westerville Police notified Columbus Police that WPD had “one of your wanted subjects at St. Ann’s hospital.” The operator identified the subject as Miles M. Jackson, date of birth 12/5/93. She informed Columbus Police that Jackson was found sleeping on a bench outside of a bank, and was taken to the hospital after a suspected relapse related to a drug overdose. She informed Columbus Police that Jackson has an open domestic violence warrant out of case, with additional warrants for assault, falsification, resisting arrest, drug possession, and weapons under disability.
At 12:41 Columbus Police Officers Ryan Krichbaum and Andrew Howe are dispatched to St. Ann’s to take Jackson into custody. The second video from Officer Krichbaum’s body worn camera starts at 1:42pm., Officers Krichbaum and Howe are seen preparing Jackson fortransport to the Franklin County jail. The officers are seen searching Jackson’s pockets. Officer Krichbaum appears to discover something and signals to Officer Howe. He says, “Get his arms behind his back right now,” and a struggle between the officers and Jackson begins. During the struggle, Jackson can be heard saying "I'm giving it to you man." Police said the video shows Krichbaum tasing Jackson, taking him to the ground, where he continued to resist.
A short time later, police said the video shows Jackson's gun fire. Police said the bullet visibly left Jackson's pocket and Krichbaum is seen struggling to disarm him. Howe is seen in the video firing his gun, but it malfunctioned. After the initial shots were fired, Jackson is down on the ground with officers pointing guns at him. Jackson is ordered to put his hands in the air several dozen times over the course of the next five minutes. Jackson told officers that he was leaning on the gun at one point. A Taser is eventually used on Jackson again. After the Taser was fired, a gun was fired, followed by a series of gunshots. Officers are then heard calling for medics to assist Jackson. An initial investigation by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation confirmed that Jackson was armed with a gun and fired shots.

Columbus is Ohio’s state capital. The city’s Scioto Mile is a string of parks on both sides of the Scioto River, with a huge interactive fountain and trails. On the west bank, the COSI science center offers hands-on exhibits and a planetarium. Downtown, the Columbus Museum of Art includes American and European paintings and a sculpture garden. The German Village area has restored brick houses built by 1800s settlers.

My story so far........
I was raised in the West and became an adult in the East.
I set out on my own at 18 to see the world, bouncing around Asia and North America. Working my way through school, I never lived anywhere too long. I found my calling as a teacher and ended up staying abroad for many years. While I've had a chance to explore Europe, places I consider home are Washington DC, Seoul, Beijing, Memphis, and Columbus. After 20 years of exploring, I'm ready to share my adventures and wanderlust. The road ahead is never a straight line, but a path that zigs and zags, leading you to amazing places, people, and experiences you could never imagine. After growing up in Central Ohio, the natural progression is to move to Columbus, but this was a very different town in the early 2000s. After surviving the Great Recession, Columbus has been on an absolute tear. While the recession was rough, we tended to fare better than many other cities partially due to the diverse amount of employers in the area. That, along with a focus on redevelopment of areas close to Downtown, population growth and the relatively cheap cost of living have helped buoy the Central Ohio area.
It doesn't seem that long ago in 2009 when residents were stoked to get Yuengling Lager to the area. Fast forward a short decade and today we have over 50 local breweries and our own "Ale Trail". That is just one of the fantastic changes.
Leaving for ten years, I left more or less a cow town and returned to a City bustling with boutique shops, coffee houses and restaurants, a renewed focus on fitness and somehow it seemed sunnier. In fact, it was such a cool city that we decided to stay.

Columbus, Ohio — The Columbus Division of Police released body camera footage, two days after 27-year-old Miles Jackson was fatally shot in an exchange of gunfire with Columbus police and Mount Carmel St. Ann’s hospital security on April 12, 2021. At 12:11pm , Westerville Police notified Columbus Police that WPD had “one of your wanted subjects at St. Ann’s hospital.” The operator identified the subject as Miles M. Jackson, date of birth 12/5/93. She informed Columbus Police that Jackson was found sleeping on a bench outside of a bank, and was taken to the hospital after a suspected relapse related to a drug overdose. She informed Columbus Police that Jackson has an open domestic violence warrant out of case, with additional warrants for assault, falsification, resisting arrest, drug possession, and weapons under disability.
At 12:41 Columbus Police Officers Ryan Krichbaum and Andrew Howe are dispatched to St. Ann’s to take Jackson into custody. The second video from Officer Krichbaum’s body worn camera starts at 1:42pm., Officers Krichbaum and Howe are seen preparing Jackson fortransport to the Franklin County jail. The officers are seen searching Jackson’s pockets. Officer Krichbaum appears to discover something and signals to Officer Howe. He says, “Get his arms behind his back right now,” and a struggle between the officers and Jackson begins. During the struggle, Jackson can be heard saying "I'm giving it to you man." Police said the video shows Krichbaum tasing Jackson, taking him to the ground, where he continued to resist.
A short time later, police said the video shows Jackson's gun fire. Police said the bullet visibly left Jackson's pocket and Krichbaum is seen struggling to disarm him. Howe is seen in the video firing his gun, but it malfunctioned. After the initial shots were fired, Jackson is down on the ground with officers pointing guns at him. Jackson is ordered to put his hands in the air several dozen times over the course of the next five minutes. Jackson told officers that he was leaning on the gun at one point. A Taser is eventually used on Jackson again. After the Taser was fired, a gun was fired, followed by a series of gunshots. Officers are then heard calling for medics to assist Jackson. An initial investigation by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation confirmed that Jackson was armed with a gun and fired shots.

Downtown Columbus, Ohio
Downtown Columbus is the Central Business District of Columbus, Ohio, United States. The area centers on the intersection of Broad and High streets, with the northeast corners being known simple as Broad & High by the surrounding businesses and media. Downtown as a whole encompasses all the area inside the inner belt and is home to most of the largest buildings in Columbus. The State Capitol is located on the southeast corner of Broad & High, in Capitol Square. Downtown is also home to Columbus State Community College, Franklin University, Columbus College of Art and Design, Grant Medical Center, Capital University Law School, as well as the main branch of the Columbus Metropolitan Library, the Main Street Bridge and many parks. Downtown has many neighborhoods or "districts", but it can easily be separated into three main areas; The Discovery District, High Street Corridor, and the Riverfront. The Short North, Italian Village, and Victorian Village are directly north of Downtown. Olde Towne East, and the historic King-Lincoln District are directly east, while the Brewery District and German Village are directly south of Downtown. Franklinton is to the west of Downtown, with a portion of Franklinton in Downtown. In the northwest area is the Arena District, a mixed-use development centered on Nationwide Arena, the home of the Columbus Blue Jackets. The Arena District also includes the baseball stadium Huntington Park and the Lifestyle Communities Pavilion.
