How do I install/update a theme?

Click here for a pretty nice tutorial on how to install tumblr themes and here for a tutorial for page themes. Updates are done the exact way, just replace the code with the new one from the theme preview page.

The theme isn’t showing up properly?

Keep in mind that the theme might not show up correctly on the page you edit your theme on, especially some things like fonts and some parts may overlap. Check your actual blog instead. If that doesn’t work, try installing one of the default tumblr themes, refresh the page, and install the theme again. If that still doesn't work, send me a link and I'll check it out.

How do I customize things (images, fonts, colours, etc.) on the theme?

On the page before the one you copy the code into, where you can change your blog name and description and such, there is a bunch of options you can customize. This will change from theme to theme but I suggest looking through it before you ask how you change something.
Some themes might have things that you have to go into the code to edit. Check the notes at the top of the code (if there are any) to see how to do it.

How do I format the description or other parts of the theme?

If you check out the description on the theme preview, there might be a few things listed that you can do with it. For other things (like bold text, italic text, or other fancy stuff), I suggest looking up some basic HTML. Click here for a little cheat sheet on it. Also, some themes may have specific instructions on either the theme preview or the top of the code. Please check those!

Help me modify a theme?

I'm sorry but unless it's very specific to the theme, I don't help with theme modifications. I suggest you look up some basics on HTML and possibly even CSS. Usually a quick search on google can help you with whatever you're looking for. And no worries, you don't have to ask to modify a theme, go right ahead!

My posts aren't showing up anywhere?

Check if the theme you're using is either a blog theme or a page theme. It should say so at the top of the code. Blog themes are meant for your whole blog but page themes are meant to be for separate pages on your blog so they won't show any posts on them.

My post images aren't showing / being duplicated?

First make sure that you only have one post size (500px/400px/250px) selected. Toggle all these options on and off and then select the one you want. If this still doesn't help, try turning off the "lazy load images" option.

My asks/messages aren't working?

Make sure you have your asks enabled! Some people forget to do this with sideblogs and such so make sure you have that enabled.

You haven't replied to my message?

I try to answer all messages and usually will do so within 24 hours. Please be patient! Also Tumblr does tend to eat messages a lot. If you're gonna send links then I suggest you do that through messaging, since Tumblr seems to eat those asks the most. Also I may decide not to reply to questions that are clearly answered here. I get a lot of anon messages asking the same questions I answer all the time.

I have infinite scroll on and...

Okay so here's the thing about infinite scroll. It may be a really nice feature to have but it really slows down browsers and can break a lot of things. I didn't write the script either so there's not much I can do if it does break. If something on your theme isn't working, try switching infinite scroll off. I don't recommend using it so please note that if infinite scrolling is breaking your theme, I may not be able to help you with that, sorry about this!

Some thing doesn’t work.

Check all these first:

I’ll put updates and things I already know I gotta fix up on the theme preview. If you’re using an older version of the code, it’s probably a good idea to update.
I usually put details on customization either on the theme preview or near the top of the code. Please check those.
I keep a tag of questions I already answered. Might be a good idea to skim through a bit. Click. There's also a bunch more in the dropdown menus below.

Use the search bar too! Your question could've been answered before.
