BUHLER – The Buhler Crusaders baseball team is ranked No. 1 in the first set of rankings by the Kansas Association of Baseball Coaches.
The KABC released their first rankings today with the Crusaders ranked at the top of the Class 4A list followed by the McPherson Bulldogs are No. 2.
Nickerson is also ranked in the KABC Top 10. The No. 9 Panthers are 0-2 to start the season, though, after dropping both games of a doubleheader to Smoky Valley.
The Crusaders and Bulldogs are scheduled to play Thursday, April 8, at 4 p.m. in Buhler for a doubleheader.
Buhler is undefeated to start the year.
Buhler ace Reed Scott has already made a name for himself on the mound, throwing a no-hitter with Bradley Neill coming in to relieve and throw 10 strikeouts in the Crusaders' win over Winfield.
Scott is regarded as one of the top pitchers in 4A. Niell was an first-team all-state player as a freshman two years ago and is also considered one of the top players in 4A.
Ryan Henderson is another name that stands out on the Crusaders as he signed his national letter of intent to play baseball at Hutchinson Community College.
