the aggressive obsession with passing a lot of young trans people have should be destroyed and replaced with simply existing, if say ur a girl then ur a girl, if u say ur a boy ur a boy, if u say ur both or neither etc then you are, nothing has to change, it’s sad seeing a lot of kids repeat the same internalized hatred i’ve seen my peers and my self grow up with and it shouldn’t be normalized

neotrances

since none of you can read and are being the most annoying people on earth about this post, to clarify, all this says is you donot HAVE to pass in order to be the gender you say you are, that’s it, it does not say passing is bad or transitioning is bad, it only says that passing is not a requirement to being your gender, you are already enough. you are already the gender you say you are, and younger trans people need to know this so they don’t go through the same hell that most of us have grown up with

WE MUST FIGHT FOR CARTOON NETWORK

yopinky

Okay. I know Cartoon Network has been unfair when scheduling and promoting it shows (it gives crappy shows like Teen Titans Go! more coverage than quality shows like Steven Universe and OK K.O.!). But now it is under attack by a homophobic and transphobic extremist group called the American Family Association. This hate group has an off branch known as One Million Moms, which is supposedly a group of mothers that petitions against companies and TV shows that have been making huge strides for LGBTQ+ representation. They strongly opposed the monumental gay marriage in Arthur and have supported Chick Fil-A and its abysmal anti-LGBTQ+ policies.

Now this hate group is turning to Cartoon Network during Pride Month, for the channel has made (although it still has ways to go) major strides in LGBTQ+ representation. It is creating a petition for Cartoon Network “to put a stop to pushing the LGBTQ agenda by deleting the “Happy Pride” ad immediately and no longer airing programs with same sex couples.” This means they want Cartoon Network TO ERASE ALL CURRENT LANDMARK EPISODES WITH LGBTQ+ REPRESENTATION AND CANCEL THE PRODUCTION OF FUTURE ONES!! They mentioned the Powerpuffs ad for Pride Month, Princess Bubblegum and Marceline’s kiss in the season finale of Adventure Time, and Ruby and Sapphire’s marriage in Steven Universe. Furthermore, the petition has been signed by 13,156 people at the time this post was posted and will most likely rise.

Please reblog this to spread awareness about this terrible petition and to stand up for Cartoon Network!! Feel free to add additional information on how to combat this hate group and additional ones!!

this is LITERALLY the funniest promotional piece that anyone has ever made for a tv show or movie ever

theultradork

The best part is the story behind it.

After Edgar Wright stormed off the project, this movie almost got canceled. It took Peyton Reed literally finishing it with his crew in a single year, and Paul Rudd contributing on the writing to get it done within the deadline. And apparently, because they had to rush production ON a reduced budget no less, the effects weren’t even close to done by the time they had to put out Trailers and TV spots, and most of what was finished, or near done, had to be used in the theatrical spots. So Rudd and Douglas here supposedly came up with this idea, on the spot, as it would at least get people talking and avoid reusing too many of the same shots.

Just a heads up, there appears to be some sort of scam group calling themselves SpiritCoreHealth or some variation of that, and they’re reaching out to me and a couple of other chronic illness bloggers looking to “recruit” us into what looks like some sort of multilevel marketing/cult wellness bullshit thing.

I’ve had multiple messages from different accounts, all claiming to be affiliated with it and “wanting practitioners such as yourself to be part of our group.”

If you see them on any of my posts, please report them, either to me or Tumblr itself. I won’t have charlatans using my blog to exploit the chronic illness community.

themori-witch

I got a message from someone claiming to be part of the “Core Spirit family” earlier (using the term “family” is predatory recruiting tool number 1).

Don’t copy the link they send into your browser. Don’t interact. Report the messages to tumblr as spam.

Boosting the signal. Report these scammers to Tumblr.

thebibliosphere

The link is likely a blog hijacker. I’ve now had messages from several blogs that looked to be normal blogs, but are now just posting Core Spirit links onto other people’s posts.

Report any IMs to tumblr as spam, it should auto block them too.

This is the link from the video. It’s important that we try to take action. Don’t buy chocolate that may be connected with slavery. In the link there’s also information about slavery free chocolate.

On chocolate, coffee, tea, other products coming from the global south: if you can afford it, buy only products with some kind of a certificate that demonstrates the product has been ethically produced (and this has been verified by an outside agency), such as the Fairtrade, UTZ or Rainforest Alliance certificate.

But also beware that some producers have made up their own certificates, with no outside oversight. These essentially fake certificates include Cocoa Life, the certificate invented by Mondelez – one of the companies listed behind the link for using slave labour, who stopped using Rainforest Alliance certified cocoa and switched to their own certificate instead.

here’s a list of companies who use fair trade chocolate:

and a list of companies who knowingly use slave labor to make their chocolate:

  • Hershey’s
  • Mars (M&M, Snickers, Dove, etc)
  • Mondelez (part of Kraft) (Cadbury, Toblerone, Oreos)
  • Nestle
  • Lindt
  • Godiva
  • Ghirardelli

IRAdvocates filed a federal class action lawsuit last February 2021. You can read the press release linked here for more information and check out the website and social media of IRAdvocates for updates. As of may 25th 2021 this is the latest news as far as I know.

A UK BLM activist was shot last night in London at 3am (23rd May 2021) after the Palestine protest.

Her name is Sasha Johnson.

She's not dead yet, but it's unlikely she will survive as she was shot in the head.

She has been heavily involved in organising protests over the last year as well as making speeches, and has been receiving death threats for it which the Met hasn't done anything about.

I'm sharing this bc I know I won't see much of it, but also to let people know that this shit does happen in the UK and it's not acceptable.

I'm hoping that there's a boost in attention paid to this story from over here, with Tamika posting about it earlier. She's got a lot of eyes on her in America.
