    While a lot has been spoken about the Leopards of Kabini, Bera and Mumbai, almost no-one knows about this heaven for leopards, called Chambal. Will be doing a series of posts on them. Here is the first image, a lady emerging form her cave.

    and the incredible landscape they live in. The walls of this gorge stand at 90 degrees, and according to the local fishermen, the leopards often push their prey tumbling down these cliffs to kill them. A bit like snow leopards in Ladakh.

    I watch your back, you watch my back: Indian White Eye. Distinctive white eye ring makes it easy to Id. Their peak breeding season is Mar-April & they lay 2 pale blue eggs. Bird feeds mainly on insects, nectar and fruits.

    Sri Lankan junglefowl (Gallus lafayettii) with a very distinct yellow patch in the crown. They are more closely related to the Grey junglefowl than the Red junglefowl. Go figure 🤔
