Just a reminder: In the US at any point, there are 400,000 children in foster care and also there are 120,000 waiting to be adopted.
And another reminder: the legality of abortion has like no effect on the rate in which it occurs. In other words, abortions will continue to happen regardless of if it's legal or not, and by trying to make it illegal or inaccessible then you're just guaranteeing the suffering of the women trying to get an abortion. You're also increasing the number of botched abortions. If you want less abortions to occur, sex ed and accessible contraceptives REALLY help with that.
I went through the process to foster children in my state. A stat they brought up is that if half of the churches in our state had a family step up to adopt a child, they would all be placed. I like to think that most people don't even think about adopting a 13 year old as an option, but they really should. Those kids need love and an Xbox just as much as the next kid.
Just another example why abortion should be completely legal and should be advocated for. These fucking religious nuts want pro life but what kind of life do these kids have. Such a shame.
And there are so many couples that need this im sad that kids end up in foster care, ive worked with foster kids for many years. Thankfully there are MANY amazing foster parents
I understand the argument, and from a logistic standpoint it makes sense. But suggesting they are better off dead is kind of dark.
Ridiculous straw-man argument. There is a w a i t i n g list for babies to be adopted. W a i t i n g list. Where do people get the idea of drawing the comparison of “Children waiting to be adopted” when talking about abortion? Critical thinking skills would clear this up. Babies, on average, get adopted within two weeks. You can hardly find one. How do I know this? Experience. Please, stop the “but the Children waiting to be adopted!” Argument. Newborn babies will be adopted within weeks, period.
Solution? Kill them. Or how about fund more programs and real estate. And direct our tax dollars to life instead of allowing abortion and throwing our hands up saying "what ya gonna do, my body, my choice" whenthe individual who's body is being directly affected is indeed the child's.
okay but we could make that number be 1 million and then confetti would fall out of the sky and the kazoo kid would show up to go to his foster home
