Tag der offnen tür celebrated on 9 June 2018 in Hochschule Rhein Waal Kleve, Germany. 8 teams in 2 hours had to made a boat which was able to sail for more than 200 meter from HSRW mensa passing through HSRW spoy canal, FSR department, HSRW bibliothek (library), and ending up the race infront of HSRW audimax at HSRW bridge.
The event also had some amaring an inspiring locals of stadt kleve which were enjoying Summer in Kleve.

Welcome to Kleve! This is where I live now after Berlin. Kleve is a town in the Lower Rhine region of northwestern Germany near the Dutch border and the River Rhine. The city is home to one of the campuses of the Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences. How to get here? You can use RE10 train from Düsseldorf (about 1,5 hours), or use bus SB58 from Nijmegen (about 50 minutes).

Kleve enjoys a long tradition as a city of culture, art and history. (link in German). The Schwanenburg, or Swan Castle, is one of the city’s most notaeable pieces of cultural heritage. ( we did not have chance to visit 😪) It once served as the residence of the counts and dukes who ruled over Kleve and its territories. Today it’s one of the city’s most prominent features, visible for miles in any direction.
Other noteable cultural sites are the Collegiate Church St. Maria Himmelfahrt; the B.C. Koekkoek-Haus, former residence of the famous Dutch landscape artist and currently a museum and gallery dedicated to him; as well as the Museum Kurhaus Kleve, a museum of art located next to the city’s Forstgarten, an historical garden complex in baroque style that provided inspiration for Versailles and the Potsdam City Palace in Berlin.
》Kleve also features an impressive variety of shops and stores,ranging from big-name stores to smaller boutiques. A leisurely shopping stroll through Kleve’s main thoroughfare is a popular weekend activity for many people from around the region.
》The city also features many restaurants and cafés where you can meet up with friends or just sit and relax with a cup of coffee.
》For fans of music, Kleve is frequently a stop for musicians of all genres.

Late summer 2020 we went on shopping in Venlo. Venlo is a great place to do shopping and it is a Dutch town and municipality in the province of Limburg. The urban area borders the Kleve and Viersen districts in Germany.

Kleve
Cleves (German: Kleve; Dutch: Kleff, Kleef; French: Clèves; Latin: Clivia), is a town in the Lower Rhine region of northwestern Germany near the Dutch border and the River Rhine. From the 11th century onwards, Cleves was capital of a county and later a duchy. Today, Cleves is the capital of the district of Cleves in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. The city is home to one of the campuses of the Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences.

History
The native name Kleff probably derives from Middle Dutch clef, clif ‘cliff, bluff’, referring to the promontory on which the Schwanenburg castle was constructed. Since the city's coat of arms displays three clovers (German Klee, Low German Kliev), the city's name is sometimes linked by folk etymology to the clover, but the corresponding Dutch word is klever. Notably, Kleve was spelled with a c throughout its history until spelling reforms introduced in the 1930s required that the name be spelled with a k. As of 2008, the CDU announced ambitions to return the name to its original spelling.

Kleve (district)
Kleve (district) or Kreis Kleve (Cleves in English use) is a Kreis (local-government district) in northwestern North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Neighbouring districts are Borken, Wesel, and Viersen in Germany, and the Dutch provinces of Limburg and Gelderland.
History
The district in its present borders was created in 1975 when the former district of Kleve and Geldern was merged with the Rees District towns of Emmerich and Rees and the Moers District municipality of Rheurdt.
The two precursor districts had been created in 1816 when the whole of the Rhineland became a province of Prussia. Territorially they corresponded roughly to the historic duchies of Cleves and Guelders.
Geography
The district is located in the lower valley of the Rhine, in the region where that river flows into the Netherlands.
Coat of arms
The coat of arms, which was granted in 1983, combines the shields of the two constituent duchies.
The dexter side depicts the emblem of the dukes of Cleves: On a red (gules) field a white (argent) escutcheon (shield shape) with an eightfold fleur-de-lys (escarbuncle/metal shield reinforcement). The sinister side shows a golden (or) lion (in rampant position) on a blue (azure) field (background): the emblem of the dukes of Geldern.

Welcome to Kleve! This is where I live now after Berlin. Kleve is a town in the Lower Rhine region of northwestern Germany near the Dutch border and the River Rhine. The city is home to one of the campuses of the Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences. How to get here? You can use RE10 train from Düsseldorf (about 1,5 hours), or use bus SB58 from Nijmegen (about 50 minutes).

( we did not have chance to visit 😪) It once served as the residence of the counts and dukes who ruled over Kleve and its territories. Today it’s one of the city’s most prominent features, visible for miles in any direction.
Other noteable cultural sites are the Collegiate Church St. Maria Himmelfahrt; the B.C. Koekkoek-Haus, former residence of the famous Dutch landscape artist and currently a museum and gallery dedicated to him; as well as the Museum Kurhaus Kleve, a museum of art located next to the city’s Forstgarten, an historical garden complex in baroque style that provided inspiration for Versailles and the Potsdam City Palace in Berlin.
》Kleve also features an impressive variety of shops and stores,ranging from big-name stores to smaller boutiques. A leisurely shopping stroll through Kleve’s main thoroughfare is a popular weekend activity for many people from around the region.

Tag der offnen tür celebrated on 9 June 2018 in Hochschule Rhein Waal Kleve, Germany. 8 teams in 2 hours had to made a boat which was able to sail for more than 200 meter from HSRW mensa passing through HSRW spoy canal, FSR department, HSRW bibliothek (library), and ending up the race infront of HSRW audimax at HSRW bridge.
The event also had some amaring an inspiring locals of stadt kleve which were enjoying Summer in Kleve.

Kleve
Cleves (German: Kleve; Dutch: Kleff, Kleef; French: Clèves; Latin: Clivia), is a town in the Lower Rhine region of northwestern Germany near the Dutch border and the River Rhine. From the 11th century onwards, Cleves was capital of a county and later a duchy. Today, Cleves is the capital of the district of Cleves in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. The city is home to one of the campuses of the Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences.

History
The native name Kleff probably derives from Middle Dutch clef, clif ‘cliff, bluff’, referring to the promontory on which the Schwanenburg castle was constructed. Since the city's coat of arms displays three clovers (German Klee, Low German Kliev), the city's name is sometimes linked by folk etymology to the clover, but the corresponding Dutch word is klever. Notably, Kleve was spelled with a c throughout its history until spelling reforms introduced in the 1930s required that the name be spelled with a k. As of 2008, the CDU announced ambitions to return the name to its original spelling.
