Biography

Designer Delfina Delettrez’s jewelry is surreal, cheeky, and sometimes a little bit sinister: enamel eyes cry tears of blood, or a cuff shaped like a human hand—right down to the painted fingernails—grips the wrist. A fourth-generation member of the Fendi design family, the young Roman designer finds inspiration in her city and in the works of Man Ray and René Magritte, as well as in less expected sources like anatomy, mythology, and the animal kingdom. Collaborating with the likes of Opening Ceremony and Kenzo, Delettrez works in enamel, gold, and semi-precious stones, as well as experimenting with new materials, including rubber and mirrors, on wearable, sculptural pieces she considers “mini architecture.”
