Rabat

Rabat (Arabic: ar-Ribaaṭ الرباط‎; Berber: ⴰⵕⴱⴰⵟ Aṛbaṭ) is the capital of Morocco and its seventh largest city center with an urban population of approximately 580,000 (2014) and a metropolitan population of over 1.2 million. It is also the capital of the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra administrative region.

The city is located on the Atlantic Ocean at the mouth of the river Bou Regreg. On the facing shore of the river lies Salé, the city's main commuter town. Rabat, Temara, and Salé form a conurbation of over 1.8 million people. Silt-related problems have diminished Rabat's role as a port; however, Rabat and Salé still maintain important textile, food processing and construction industries. In addition, tourism and the presence of all foreign embassies in Morocco serve to make Rabat one of the most important cities in the country.

Once a reputed corsair haven, Rabat served as one of the many ports in North Africa for the Barbary pirates, who were particularly active from the 16th through the 18th centuries.

Clerical clothing

Clerical clothing is non-liturgical clothing worn exclusively by clergy. It is distinct from vestments in that it is not reserved specifically for services. Practices vary: is sometimes worn under vestments, and sometimes as the everyday clothing or street wear of a priest, minister, or other clergy member. In some cases, it can be similar or identical to the habit of a monk or nun.

In modern times, many Christian clergy have adopted the use of a clergy with a clerical collar.

Rabat (film)

Rabat is a Dutch roadmovie, and the first film made by Jim Taihattu and Victor Ponten, from Habbekrats. Habbekrats, founded in 2004, is an independent Dutch advertising company, which focuses specifically on people and companies with a so-called 'no-nonsense' mentality. For example, they made a videoclip for the Dutch rapduo The Opposites called 'Dom, lomp & famous' on YouTube They have also worked for Het Parool, Freshcotton, MTV Netherlands and DuvelDuvel.

It was filmed in the summer of 2010 during a period of five weeks. The premiere was on the 6th of June 2011 at Tuschinski in Amsterdam.

The three main characters are played by Nasrdin Dchar, Achmed Akkabi and Marwan Kenzari. The film was shot by a young cameraman from the Netherlands: Lennart Verstegen.

Plot

In the movie Nadir (Nasrdin Dchar) has to bring a taxi that used to belong to his dad, to his uncle in Rabat, in Morocco. At first he intends to go alone, but his two friends Abdel (Achmed Akkabi) and Zakaria (Marwan Kenzari) invite themselves along. They travel through the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Spain and Morocco. Along the way they experience all kind of things. In France they picked up a hitchhiker called Julie (Stéphane Caillard) with whom he falls in love. In Spain they get arrested and treated unfairly by the police, and when they go clubbing in Barcelona with Julie and her friends, they aren't allowed in the club, because they're foreigners. Along the way Nadir is keeping a secret from his two best friends with whom he has been friends with for seventeen years, and is planning on opening a shoarma restaurant with. The secret causes a big fight on their way there, but also makes their friendship stronger. At the end they all go their own way; Nadir goes back to Barcelona, to Julie, Zakaria goed to visit and find his family in Tunisia, and Abdel goes back to Amsterdam to start up their shoarma restaurant.

Morocco (ⁱ/məˈrɒkoʊ/; Arabic: المغرب‎ al-Maġrib; Berber: ⵍⵎⴰⵖⵔⵉⴱl'Meġrib; French: Maroc), officially the Kingdom of Morocco, is a country in the Maghreb region of North Africa. Geographically, Morocco is characterized by a rugged mountainous interior and large portions of desert. Morocco Pavilion at Epcot

The Morocco Pavilion is a Morocco-themed pavilion that is part of the World Showcase, within Epcot at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. It was the first expansion pavilion to be added to World Showcase, opening on September 7, 1984.

Its location is between the Japanese and French Pavilions.

Layout

The Morocco Pavilion, designed to look like a Moroccan city with a realistic Minaret, features the only pavilion in which the country's government aided in the design. Guests to the pavilion gain insight on the lifestyle and culture of the Moroccan people through the Gallery of Arts and History. The Fes House shows guests the typical Moroccan house. Inside the pavilion, North African plants including citrus trees, date palms, and olive trees, and fountains can be seen. The courtyard plays hosts to entertainment, including a belly dancing show in the evening. Restaurant Marrakesh, along with the Tangierine Cafe, serve Moroccan fare, including roast lamb in Tajine, Couscous, and Harira soup. Six shops adorn the pavilion, selling patrons everything from rugs to leather goods, and traditional Moroccan clothing.
