#God I love this gifset SO MUCH!!!#Alex needs all the hugs#but it also got me thinking … what if his parents (esp. his mom) used to hug him all the time when he was a kid and he loved it#and then later as a teenager maybe he got into that getting hugs from your parents is weird so better pretend you don’t enjoy them phase#while still loving them#and then he comes out to his parents and the hugs just stop?#and whenever they have to hug it’s this stiff pretend thing? short and weird and he HATES it?#and he never really tells his friends but he becomes sort of prickly when it comes to hugs? not the other physical affection stuff …#he loves that but hugs remind him of his parents and it’s weird#hence Reggie’s ‘that’s why noone hugs you’ which is hilarious but later always rang weird to me?#so he is responsible for his friends not hugging them but is also hurt by it when they stop trying (because people are complicated)#(and don’t make sense)#so he’s hurt by his friends not hugging him in the dark room#anyway … enter Willie <3#the first person he’s hugged for real in a really long time and it’s just The Hug! The best hug ever (even though it’s their goodbye)#and he couldn’t let Willie go without at least hugging him once#so he hugs him#and remembers just how great hugs are#and then the stamps vanish and they’re safe and he can hug his family again#because THESE people are his real family now#…okay I think that’s enough about me being emotional about Alex and hugs … Oo
