    The operations in Bengaluru and Chennai in the last few days are important. The DRI and serving the call of duty for national security. International drug gangs are a menace to any country. Even during need to keep our alert high. Keep the good work going.

    These operations are an outcome of the heightened alerts and readiness maintained by the DRI to check the menace of international drug gangs trying to take advantage of the COVID pandemic to traffic dangerous narcotic drugs into India.

    Thanks for bringing issue to our notice. For these goods, customs clearance was done in an hour, Importer did not seek exemption & was ineligible. Payment done at chowki is outside our jurisdiction. Indian customs is always at your service

    A long wait: Indian diaspora sends Covid aid, but it gets stuck in the process. The cumbersome clearance process at airports and the conditions on exemption of IGST rates are reportedly causing delays and impacting aid distribution coming from abroad.

    On 07.05.21 Hyderabad Customs booked a case for smuggling of gold. The 24carat gold bars were concealed in an unclaimed check-in baggage landed from Dubai by flight EK-526. A total of 2.6 kgs of gold valued at Rs 1.28 crores was seized. Further investigation is in progress.
