Elvis Costello - 12 Stiff EP 77 w DZ EP 85 w Live Toronto LP 78 w Pump It Up 7 78 w The Very Best Of CD 94 w Armed Forces CD Bonus 79 93 w Blood And Chocolate CD

REPOST Request and ADD ON:  I still remember staying up late watching Saturday Night Live on the small kitchen TV and seeing him do 'Pump It Up'.  It was 1979 and I already had recorded Gary Numan's 'In Cars' on a box tape player held up to a multiband radio--listening to it a million times and then seeing Elvis solidified my migration from AOR radio with this song I also fetished on incessantly!  Got his first EP from Longy over at his defunct blog in U.K. and I cleaned out the pops expertly with no ill effects (at least not like the start of a couple ELO albums below that were thrashed) so do enjoy!  (P.S. had the car in the shop this week so posts were delayed by a few days).  Thanks also to Isksp defunct blog for the Armed Forces CD at variable bit rate with bonus tracks.  I actually have a copy of that album in 24 bit high resolution copy but it is a very large file with no bonus tracks.  If you NEED it I can bring in and add link in comments.

Electric Light Orchestra - Eldorado LP 74 w A New World Record LP 76 w Ole ELO LP 76 w Out Of The Blue 2LP 77 w Discovery LP 79 wFirst Move (Best of the Move) 2LP 73 w st LP 70 w The Greatest Hits Vol. 1 LP 70 w Split Ends LP 72 w Shazam! + Something Else Live CD

Thanks to Antonio from Rocket Star Records for letting me rip and return Eldorado LP and for being a good record store owner who knows his ELO enough to suggest what to rip.  Thus I have all the 'hit' tunes my older sister used to play in her room such as an old favorite, 'Sweet Talkin' Woman' and many more.  Also with the Move's 'Split Ends' transitioning the band into ELO, I decided to lump in all the previous Move stuff as a link in this post as it is too hard to search for such a generic word.  High pitched goodness for a guy like me who likes high pitches singin'!  Forgot to mention in our old MN scene we had an ELO cover band called EL-No! also a band with Kosta that covered Sade tunes called Solid Gold.  Quite a cool scene revolving around Radio K.

Steppenwolf - st LP 68 w At Your Birthday Party LP 68 w For Ladies Only LP 71

So lucky to have a good copy of the first album appear before me in such killer shape where you can really crank up the fuzzy guitar!!  Still missing many albums such as the second with 'Magic Carpet Ride' but that song has been played so much on AOR radio that I really couldn't care less.  These three albums are all very good and give good background to the John Kay stuff I had posted from this L.A. band.  Enjoy!!            https://gofile.io/d/zvOPpp

URBAN VERBS - st LP 80 w Early Damage LP 81

REPOST Request:  I am going to borrow the comment to describe this band:  The Urban Verbs were from DC. They practiced in what later became the original location of the 930 Club. Roddy Frantz, the front man, was the brother of Talking Head's Chris Frantz. These guys were always a bit too art for me at the time (I was immersed in DC's Hardcore scene during those days). I bought the first album at Record & Tape, played it once and shelved it.  Later in the 80s I dusted off and it has remained a favorite since then.        https://gofile.io/d/89eqJ7

T.S.O.L. needs your help to fund their film

Hey guys, special post here.  My buddy Jack Grisham from T.S.O.L. (True Sounds Of Liberty) is seeking contributors for the film he made with all the original members and how they roll...it is NOT a documentary as he says in the clip here:  https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ignoreheroes/ignore-heroes

and is called 'Ignore Heroes'.  Getting near their goal and if you donate $200 you get your name in the credits AND in a book regarding the film that you get.  If you've enjoyed my posts of the band in the past this is a great way to work with them.  Cheers!   Viacom

BLUES BROTHERS - Briefcase Full Of Blues LP 78 w Made In America LP 80 w OST tape 80

Thanks for the request on this one as I had only heard the 'Briefcase' album long ago in my sisters' room in our old playroom downstairs so it was an old favorite I had forgotten about and now really sounded good in my car on the way to work today.  A lot of their cover tunes are in my collection from years later not remembering I had heard them first on TV from the BLUES BROTHERS...MISSION ACCOMPLISHED Jake and Elwood, love you guys for keeping it alive and yes in 2006 instead of back of the record store section, I was buying had seen more than a few times R.L. Burnside and his crew at First Ave. after his hit tune lasted most of the year on Radio K...I will post him soon...and how about old Lightning' Hopkins and Professor Longhair or Robert Johnson for that matter.
