The SSRC invites proposals for small grants of up to $25,000 for projects that explore the ongoing social, economic, political, and cultural impacts of slavery in the contemporary US, through the lens of the GU 272 and their descendants. The deadline to apply is June 15.
The SSRC is proud to announce that Dr. Anna Harvey, a leading scholar of government, law, and inequality, and professor of politics at NYU, has been selected as the Council’s 15th president and CEO. Dr. Harvey will begin her term on July 1, 2021
The Council is proud to announce that Dr. Pratap Bhanu Mehta will be its next SSRC Fellow. Dr. Mehta will be in residency at the Council in November, during which he will lead seminars and deliver the 2021 SSRC Fellow Lecture. See the full announcement
The SSRC Anxieties of Democracy and Drugs, Security, and Democracy programs invite proposals for new “Democratic Anxieties in the Americas Research Grants,” supporting projects that address the challenges facing democratic societies across the Americas. Deadline: May 9, 2021
