The objects described by our metadata can be copyrighted themselfs (and often are). See exceptions in the block on content licensing.
The IISH dedicates the metadata (referred to below as 'the work') from our triplestore to the public domain by waiving the rights to the metadata worldwide under copyright law, including all related and neighboring rights, to the extent allowed by law.
