The KNAW Humanities Cluster is focused on connecting people, research, data and collections. We foster innovative humanities research and build sustainable infrastructure. Our interdisciplinary research groups draw their expertise from humanities, computational linguistics, social science and semantic web and aim for innovation in research methodology. The Digital Infrastructure department provides a solid sustainable infrastructure environment for (digital) humanities projects.
The three founding institutes IISH, Huygens ING and Meertens Institute together created an unique research environment where everyone benefits from our combined knowledge, skills and experience across different disciplines, like data and collection management, research software engineering, and communication. Our researchers mainly focus on Ethnology, and Linguistics, History and Literature of the Netherlands, History of Knowledge, and Global Labour History. Read more about us.
