Theodore Leopold Friedman (June 6, 1890 – August 25, 1971), known as Ted Lewis, was an American entertainer, bandleader, singer, and musician. He fronted a band and touring stage show that presented a combination of jazz, comedy, and nostalgia that was a hit with the American public before and after World War II. He was known by the moniker "Mr. Entertainment" or Ted "Is Everybody Happy?" Lewis. Lewis died of lung failure in August 1971.
Born in Circleville, Ohio, Lewis was one of the first Northern musicians to start imitating the New Orleans jazz musicians who came up to New York in the teens. He first recorded in 1917 with Earl Fuller's Jazz Band, who were making an energetic if somewhat clumsy attempt to copy the sound of the city's newest sensation, the Original Dixieland Jass Band. At the time, Lewis didn't seem to be able to do much on the clarinet other than trill. (Promoting one recording the Victor catalog stated:"The sounds as of a dog in his dying anguish are from Ted Lewis' clarinet"). He improved a bit later, forming his style from the influences of the first New Orleans clarinetists to reside in New York, Larry Shields, Alcide Nunez, and Achille Baquet.
Ted Lewis is an American computer scientist and mathematician. A professor at the Naval Postgraduate School and formerly a professor at Oregon State University, he has also held positions at Eastman Kodak Company, for which he served as Director, Digital Business Development and Senior Vice President, and DaimlerChrysler Research and Technology, North America, Inc., where he was President and CEO. Lewis has written or co-authored 30 books, including The Friction-Free Economy, Distributed and Parallel Computing, and Microsoft Rising. A columnist for IEEE Internet Computing, he has contributed pieces to Scientific American and Upside. He has served two stints of Editor-in-Chief, at IEEE Software from 1987 to 1990 and at Computer from 1993 to 1994.
Ted Lewis (15 January 1940 – 1982) was a British writer.
He was born in Manchester, an only child. After World War II the family moved to Barton-upon-Humber in 1947. He had a strict upbringing and his parents did not want their son to go to art school, but Ted's English teacher Henry Treece, recognising his creative talents in writing and art, persuaded them not to stand in his way.
Lewis attended Hull Art School for four years. His first work was in London, in advertising, and then as an animation specialist in television and films (among them the Beatles' Yellow Submarine). His first novel, All the Way Home and All the Night Through was published in 1965, followed by Jack's Return Home, subsequently retitled Get Carter after the success of the film of the same name starring Michael Caine, which created the noir school of British crime writing and pushed Lewis into the best-seller list. After the collapse of his marriage Lewis returned to his home town in the 1970s.
Ted Lewis died in 1982 having published seven more novels and written several episodes for the television series Z-Cars. Doctor Who Producer Graham Williams who had worked with Lewis on Z-Cars commissioned a script entitled The Doppelgangers in 1978 from Lewis. However, the script was formally rejected on 11 January 1979 and never put into production.
The Simpsons includes a large array of supporting characters: co-workers, teachers, family friends, extended relatives, townspeople, local celebrities, fictional characters within the show, and even animals. The writers originally intended many of these characters as one-time jokes or for fulfilling needed functions in the town. A number of them have gained expanded roles and have subsequently starred in their own episodes. According to the creator of The Simpsons, Matt Groening, the show adopted the concept of a large supporting cast from the Canadian sketch comedy show Second City Television.
Agnes Skinner (voiced by Tress MacNeille) is the mother of Principal Skinner and first appeared in the first season episode "The Crepes of Wrath" as an old woman who embarrassingly calls her son "Spanky". However, as episodes progressed, the character turned bitter. She is very controlling of her son and often treats him as if he is a child. She hates Edna Krabappel due to her son's feelings for the other woman. Agnes has married four times. Several Springfield residents (including the Simpsons) are afraid of her. When "the real Seymour Skinner" arrives in Springfield, Agnes ends up rejecting him in part because he stands up to her, but also because unlike Skinner/Tamzarian, her biological son is independent and doesn't need her anymore, while Skinner immediately reverts to a good-for-nothing without her.
A lewis (sometimes called a lewisson) is one of a category of lifting devices used by stonemasons to lift large stones into place with a crane, chain block, or winch. It is inserted into a specially prepared hole, or seating, in the top of a stone, directly above its centre of mass. It works by applying principles of the lever and utilises the weight of the stone to act on the long lever-arms which in turn results in a very high reaction force and friction where the short lever-arms make contact with the stone inside the hole and thereby prevents slipping.
The name lewis may come from the Latin levo -avi, -atum meaning to levitate or lift, but the Oxford English Dictionary Online states, "the formation and the phonology are not easily explained on this hypothesis", preferring "origin obscure", and speculating that the term may derive from a personal name. The Romans used the lewis. The specially shaped hole that is shaped to fit the device is known as a lewis hole. Lewis holes in the uppermost masonry coursings are neatly repaired with matching indented plugs after the stone has been set in place.
Lewis is a crater on the far side of the Moon. It lies along the western edge of the Montes Cordillera mountains that surround the Mare Orientale impact basin. This crater has been heavily disrupted by the formation of the basin, and it is covered by ejecta from the impact leaving only an uneven depression in the surface. The outer rim is roughly circular, and the interior is uneven.

To the world, Marilyn was a vivacious superstar, the epitome of sexuality, sensuality and frolicsome amusement. Every man wanted her - every woman wanted to be her. But behind the enticing smile, beneath the tight-fitting dresses, there was a dark secret - one Marilyn could not bury in the past... the child inside named Norma Jean. Everything Norma Jean dreams of, Marilyn achieves. Every man she struggles to resist, Marilyn succumbs to. And while Marilyn climbs the ladder to success, Norma Jean was beneath it, almost willing her to fall.

Plot: 7-year old Ted has diabetes. When he leaves the hospital, the doctor tells his mother Ann not to forget the insulin injections twice a day, which for Ted is a matter of life and death. At the same time as Ted leaves hospital, his father Roy leaves prison. During his six months in jail Roy has written a letter every week to his wife, but his mother-in-law has torn them up, to prevent her daughter from reading them. She has also convinced Ann to divorce. Roy rents a room in London, and then goes to Ann's house to visit her and their son. The mother-in-law tells him to stay away, because Ann and Ted don't want to see him anymore. In his despair Roy involves an old sweetheart in a plan to kidnap Ted. If she accompany them on the night train to Inverness, they will be perceived as a family, and thereby not evoke any suspicions. He doesn't know that Ted has diabetes and needs his injections. The police soon find out that Roy has kidnapped Ted, but they don't know where they have gone. Ann, the doctor and the chief inspector wait nervously at Scotland Yard for information, while the night hours are passing by. Ted must soon be found and get insulin, otherwise he will die.

Ooh-wee-ooh
Ooh-wee-ooh
I'm on the dancefloor
Lazee
Mohombi
Ooh-wee-ooh
Ooh-wee-ooh
(Here we go)
I'm on the dancefloor
I do it for family and friends
And my fans on tour
Do it from the heart
When it hits the store
And to hits your ear
Something you give more
Make you wanna some more
And I give it some more
And I can never give 'em enough
It seems I give it up
All the words will stuck
Whole later
The boys are amazing
As I was, I got the dancefloor shakin'
From the top floor, down to the basement (aha)
And the black eyed were spending living
Better believe, I've got this feeling, Black Eyed Peas
Make you booty-trap on for you playing
When they ask where I do it for
I'll say
I do it for the once who got my back (ooh-ooh-wee)
I do it from my heart, on every track (ooh-ooh-wee)
I do it for my city, we party every day
I do it for the crowd, just tonight we're going down, down
Ooh-wee-ooh
Ooh-wee-ooh
I'm on the dancefloor
Ask me when I'm so fown, fown
You know we're going down, down
Ooh-wee-ooh
Ooh-wee-ooh
I'm on the dancefloor
Ask me when I'm so fown, fown
You know we're going down, down
Ah, Viva La Vida on the play, on the Coldplay
When I feel flay, table and press play
Figured by back in the day
Get mama in the crib when I'm working on my work play
Keep dreaming, that's what sun say
My mama did not rease the fool compending
Way back when I use the wrap off lunchdays
I knew I'll make it to the top, one day
Now days, a flaw-pa
How the core in this spaceship, saffa
Give me take into the world, ba-pa
With my pokerface, so Gaga
No mission is impossible
The jam black, Tom Cruise
I mean, no, that cool
So when you ask me what I do
'Til what I do
Where I do it for
I'll say
I do it for the once who got my back (ooh-ooh-wee)
I do it from my heart, on every track (ooh-ooh-wee)
