Central Restaurante Peru is highlighted on Netflix's "Chef's Table" - Season 3, Episode 3. Peruvian Chef Virgilio Martinez has brought the Peruvian food scene onto the world stage, and Central Restaurant Lima is recognized as the Number 5 Restaurant in the World.
Here's our Central Restaurant experience - we attended the 12-course Ecosistemas Mater. Our final bill was over $500 plus tip for the night.

Dicen que Lima es sin dudas uno de los destinos gastronómicos TOP, pero ¿cuánto sale comer en la capital de Perú?.
Yo creo que en un lugar se come bien cuando la buena gastronomía es relativamente accesible a todos. ¿Se puede comer por precios bajos en Perú? Me junté con las reinas del ahorro, las Misias pero Viajeras y nos fuimos a averiguarlo. Primero fuimos a la Huerta Chinen en Surquillo donde comimos por U$S 3. Después nos fuimos a la tradicional y pituca Rosa Náutica y la cuenta llegó de U$S 120. ¿Valió la pena? ¿Nos acompañas a averiguarlo?.
En el primer comentario les dejo las Redes de las Misias pero viajeras. Sigan a estas genias que nos ayudan a todos a viajar cada vez más con sus tips de ahorro.

Come join us as we visit Gastón Acurio's El Bodegón Restaurant to eat traditional Peruvian food in Lima, Peru. After visiting two of Gaston's restaurants and absolutely loving them we jumped at the chance to check out a third to eat traditional Peruvian cuisine. What we enjoyed most about this restaurant in Lima was its rustic design, huge portions and traditional Peruvian dishes. We'd highly recommend eating at El Bodegón if you're visiting Lima, Peru.

Lima (restaurant)
Lima is a restaurant in London, United Kingdom, which serves Peruvian cuisine. The chef patron is Virgilio Martínez Véliz. In 2014, it was awarded a Michelin star, the first time a restaurant serving this cuisine had been awarded a star in Europe.
Description
Lima is owned by Gabriel and Jose Luis Gonzalez, in conjunction with Peruvian chef Virgilio Martínez Véliz. The front of house is run by maître d’ Bunmi Okolosi, formerly of Dinner by Heston Blumenthal. In the kitchen, Roberto Ortiz is the head chef of the restaurant as overseen by chef patron Virgilio Martínez Véliz. Martínez Véliz is the chef at Central Restaurante in Lima, Peru, which was named 15th in the 2014 The World's 50 Best Restaurants.
The interior of Lima was designed by Erik Munro, and features a mural whilst the rest of the restaurant is beige. The restaurant is small and narrow, and mirrors are used to give the impression of greater space. A skylight lights the rear of the restaurant, the remainder of which is lit by candles and industrial-style lamps. The kitchen is open to the dining area of the restaurant.

Lima (models)
Lima S.p.A (Lima Models) was a brand of railway models made in Vicenza, Italy, for almost 50 years, from the early 1950s until the company ceased trading in 2004. Lima was a popular, affordable brand of 00 gauge and N gauge model railway material in the UK, more detailed H0 and N gauge models in France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, and the United States as well as South Africa, Scandinavia and Australia. Lima also produced a small range of 0 gauge models. Lima partnered with various distributors and manufacturers, selling under brands such as A.H.M., Model Power, and Minitrain. Market pressures from superior Far Eastern produce in the mid-1990s led to Lima merging with Rivarossi, Arnold, and Jouef. Ultimately, these consolidations failed and operations ceased in 2004.
Hornby Railways offered €8 million to acquire Lima's assets (including tooling, inventory, and the various brand names) in March of the same year, the Italian bankruptcy court of Brescia (town near Milan, last headquarters of Lima) approving the offer later that year. In December 2004, Hornby Railways formally announced the acquisition along with the Rivarossi (H0 North American and Italian prototypes), Arnold (N scale European prototypes), Jouef (H0 scale French prototypes), and Pocher (die-cast metal automobile kits) ranges. As of mid-2006, a range of these products has been made available under the Hornby International brand, refitted with NEM couplings and sprung buffers and sockets for DCC (Digital Command Control) decoders.

It’s called El Bodegon and it’s also owned by the father of Peru's gastronomic revolution, Gaston Acurio. This place serves Criolla (Creole) food that will delight your palate. Dicen que Lima es sin dudas uno de los destinos gastronómicos TOP, pero ¿cuánto sale comer en la capital de Perú?.
Yo creo que en un lugar se come bien cuando la buena gastronomía es relativamente accesible a todos. ¿Se puede comer por precios bajos en Perú? Me junté con las reinas del ahorro, las Misias pero Viajeras y nos fuimos a averiguarlo. Primero fuimos a la Huerta Chinen en Surquillo donde comimos por U$S 3. Después nos fuimos a la tradicional y pituca Rosa Náutica y la cuenta llegó de U$S 120. ¿Valió la pena? ¿Nos acompañas a averiguarlo?.

After visiting two of Gaston's restaurants and absolutely loving them we jumped at the chance to check out a third to eat traditional Peruvian cuisine. What we enjoyed most about this restaurant in Lima was its rustic design, huge portions and traditional Peruvian dishes. We'd highly recommend eating at El Bodegón if you're visiting Lima, Peru.

It’s called El Bodegon and it’s also owned by the father of Peru's gastronomic revolution, Gaston Acurio. This place serves Criolla (Creole) food that will delight your palate. The restaurant itself has great character and has a fantastic atmosphere with Criolla music on the background. The atmosphere will make you want to stay for hours enjoying various dishes and a couple (or many) Pisco Sours. I can’t recommend it enough!

Then, we go to my workshop to strip the loco right down, clean, enhance and lubricate every moving part as per my guide. Follow each of the steps with us. I found my LIMA train set
For my fourth Christmas, Santa gave me a model Lima train set. This week I found it in Mum's roof. My son, now aged 2, who loves his wooden train set took great delight in controlling the train "Start", "Stop", "Fast", "Slow". Please hit subscribe! This channel will detail my return to the world of model railways, it would be great if you can follow along. This is a Lima model train. The train is a New South Wales, C38 class steam engine (Australian). It received it in 1984. Lima trains run on HO scale track (also called OO track), so they are compatible with brands such as Peco, Bachmann and Hornby. (OO is a slightly larger scale, but the track is the same).

Repairing Second Hand Model Trains: Fixing a Lima Class 55 'Deltic' Locomotive
Like my Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/cpnkmn In this video, I perform maintenance on a Lima 'Deltic' that I purchased with some other trains. These locomotives are not the best performance-wise but they are very simple to service, as I show in the video. They can also still be picked up cheaply, I paid $20 for this one as it was in non-working condition and has buffers missing. The mechanics of this locomotive are very sound, however the blue colour does not match the era I model and so I will try to swap the body for a green one in the near future. Hopefully this video will be popular enough to inspire me to bring other train repair videos to YouTube. Welcome back to my in-depth mini-series on upgrades to an old Lima Class 47 loco. This is the fourth video in the series and is Part A of replacing the ringfield/pancake motor with a brand new CD/DVD drive motor. In Part A, we look at dismantling the old motor, removing the gears for cleaning, adapting the plain bearing to accommodate a smaller drive shaft and positioning the new motor ready for gluing. You get to meet both of us as we try his Western out and decide that it needs a full one off special Lima service.
Then, we go to my workshop to strip the loco right down, clean, enhance and lubricate every moving part as per my guide.
Follow each of the steps with us.
Then we try the loco out again and see how it now runs.
Many thanks to Bob for all his help today, it was a long process to film and produce everything so we really hope it will help others.

In this video, I perform maintenance on a Lima 'Deltic' that I purchased with some other trains. These locomotives are not the best performance-wise but they are very simple to service, as I show in the video. They can also still be picked up cheaply, I paid $20 for this one as it was in non-working condition and has buffers missing.
The mechanics of this locomotive are very sound, however the blue colour does not match the era I model and so I will try to swap the body for a green one in the near future.
Hopefully this video will be popular enough to inspire me to bring other train repair videos to YouTube. I certainly enjoy repairing model trains (and saving money in doing so, too) and I hope you as the viewer enjoy watching and learning from these kinds of video.

The 10mm CD/DVD drive motor should work in most Lima models locomotives of the following OO gauge classes: 08, 09, 31, 37, 40, 47, 52, 59, 60, 66 and 92. Other models may be able to accommodate a larger 12mm motor, but you must check dimensions yourself first.
The replacement motor is a 12000rpm, 6V, 0.03A DC motor. The output from a DCC decoder or a DC controller can reach 12V DC (sometimes a little higher) at the top end. In order to avoid motor burn-out and prolong motor life:
1. Diodes should be used to reduce voltage (as shown in the video),
2. DCC decoders should have their CV5 value reduced (if available), and
3. Top speeds should be kept to a minimum and run at higher speeds for short periods only.

This week on St. Michael’s Hill I do some work on improving the Lima Class 60. Firstly I hardwire the loco for DCC before adding directional running lights, change the couplings, add a driver and then weather it.

Hornby Railways offered €8 million to acquire Lima's assets (including tooling, inventory, and the various brand names) in March of the same year, the Italian bankruptcy court of Brescia (town near Milan, last headquarters of Lima) approving the offer later that year. In December 2004, Hornby Railways formally announced the acquisition along with the Rivarossi (H0 North American and Italian prototypes), Arnold (N scale European prototypes), Jouef (H0 scale French prototypes), and Pocher (die-cast metal automobile kits) ranges. As of mid-2006, a range of these products has been made available under the Hornby International brand, refitted with NEM couplings and sprung buffers and sockets for DCC (Digital Command Control) decoders.

Central Restaurante Peru is highlighted on Netflix's "Chef's Table" - Season 3, Episode 3. Peruvian Chef Virgilio Martinez has brought the Peruvian food scene onto the world stage, and Central Restaurant Lima is recognized as the Number 5 Restaurant in the World.
Here's our Central Restaurant experience - we attended the 12-course Ecosistemas Mater. Our final bill was over $500 plus tip for the night.

Dicen que Lima es sin dudas uno de los destinos gastronómicos TOP, pero ¿cuánto sale comer en la capital de Perú?.
Yo creo que en un lugar se come bien cuando la buena gastronomía es relativamente accesible a todos. ¿Se puede comer por precios bajos en Perú? Me junté con las reinas del ahorro, las Misias pero Viajeras y nos fuimos a averiguarlo. Primero fuimos a la Huerta Chinen en Surquillo donde comimos por U$S 3. Después nos fuimos a la tradicional y pituca Rosa Náutica y la cuenta llegó de U$S 120. ¿Valió la pena? ¿Nos acompañas a averiguarlo?.

Come join us as we visit Gastón Acurio's El Bodegón Restaurant to eat traditional Peruvian food in Lima, Peru. After visiting two of Gaston's restaurants and absolutely loving them we jumped at the chance to check out a third to eat traditional Peruvian cuisine. What we enjoyed most about this restaurant in Lima was its rustic design, huge portions and traditional Peruvian dishes. We'd highly recommend eating at El Bodegón if you're visiting Lima, Peru.

Eating all the amazing traditional Peruvian food at another one of my favourite restaurants in Lima, Peru! It’s called El Bodegon and it’s also owned by the father of Peru's gastronomic revolution, Gaston Acurio. This place serves Criolla (Creole) food that will delight your palate. The restaurant itself has great character and has a fantastic atmosphere with Criolla music on the background. The atmosphere will make you want to stay for hours enjoying various dishes and a couple (or many) Pisco Sours. I can’t recommend it enough!

Lima is a restaurant in London, United Kingdom, which serves Peruvian cuisine. The chef patron is Virgilio Martínez Véliz. In 2014, it was awarded a Michelin star, the first time a restaurant serving this cuisine had been awarded a star in Europe.
Description
Lima is owned by Gabriel and Jose Luis Gonzalez, in conjunction with Peruvian chef Virgilio Martínez Véliz. The front of house is run by maître d’ Bunmi Okolosi, formerly of Dinner by Heston Blumenthal. In the kitchen, Roberto Ortiz is the head chef of the restaurant as overseen by chef patron Virgilio Martínez Véliz. Martínez Véliz is the chef at Central Restaurante in Lima, Peru, which was named 15th in the 2014 The World's 50 Best Restaurants.
The interior of Lima was designed by Erik Munro, and features a mural whilst the rest of the restaurant is beige. The restaurant is small and narrow, and mirrors are used to give the impression of greater space. A skylight lights the rear of the restaurant, the remainder of which is lit by candles and industrial-style lamps. The kitchen is open to the dining area of the restaurant.

My good friend and fellow train driver/ model railway enthusiast Bob brought his rather poorly Lima class 52 Western diesel loco to show me.
You get to meet both of us as we try his Western out and decide that it needs a full one off special Lima service.
Then, we go to my workshop to strip the loco right down, clean, enhance and lubricate every moving part as per my guide.
Follow each of the steps with us.
Then we try the loco out again and see how it now runs.
Many thanks to Bob for all his help today, it was a long process to film and produce everything so we really hope it will help others.

My son, now aged 2, who loves his wooden train set took great delight in controlling the train "Start", "Stop", "Fast", "Slow". Please hit subscribe! This is a Lima model train. The train is a New South Wales, C38 class steam engine (Australian). It received it in 1984. Lima trains run on HO scale track (also called OO track), so they are compatible with brands such as Peco, Bachmann and Hornby. (OO is a slightly larger scale, but the track is the same).

In this video, I perform maintenance on a Lima 'Deltic' that I purchased with some other trains. These locomotives are not the best performance-wise but they are very simple to service, as I show in the video. They can also still be picked up cheaply, I paid $20 for this one as it was in non-working condition and has buffers missing.
The mechanics of this locomotive are very sound, however the blue colour does not match the era I model and so I will try to swap the body for a green one in the near future.
Hopefully this video will be popular enough to inspire me to bring other train repair videos to YouTube. I certainly enjoy repairing model trains (and saving money in doing so, too) and I hope you as the viewer enjoy watching and learning from these kinds of video.

Welcome back to my in-depth mini-series on upgrades to an old Lima Class 47 loco. This is the fourth video in the series and is Part A of replacing the ringfield/pancake motor with a brand new CD/DVD drive motor.
In Part A, we look at dismantling the old motor, removing the gears for cleaning, adapting the plain bearing to accommodate a smaller drive shaft and positioning the new motor ready for gluing.
Part B will then focus on fixing the motor into place, creating a small diode array to drop some volts so that the motor is less stressed by higher voltages and then wiring it all up to the DCC decoder.
These are detailed, step-by-step videos. If you want a brief overview, you’ll find other options on YouTube and elsewhere. The methods used in this video are not necessarily the only way to do it, nor necessarily the best.

The 10mm CD/DVD drive motor should work in most Lima models locomotives of the following OO gauge classes: 08, 09, 31, 37, 40, 47, 52, 59, 60, 66 and 92. Other models may be able to accommodate a larger 12mm motor, but you must check dimensions yourself first.
The replacement motor is a 12000rpm, 6V, 0.03A DC motor. The output from a DCC decoder or a DC controller can reach 12V DC (sometimes a little higher) at the top end. In order to avoid motor burn-out and prolong motor life:
1. Diodes should be used to reduce voltage (as shown in the video),
2. DCC decoders should have their CV5 value reduced (if available), and
3. Top speeds should be kept to a minimum and run at higher speeds for short periods only.

Lima S.p.A (Lima Models) was a brand of railway models made in Vicenza, Italy, for almost 50 years, from the early 1950s until the company ceased trading in 2004. Lima was a popular, affordable brand of 00 gauge and N gauge model railway material in the UK, more detailed H0 and N gauge models in France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, and the United States as well as South Africa, Scandinavia and Australia. Lima also produced a small range of 0 gauge models. Lima partnered with various distributors and manufacturers, selling under brands such as A.H.M., Model Power, and Minitrain. Market pressures from superior Far Eastern produce in the mid-1990s led to Lima merging with Rivarossi, Arnold, and Jouef. Ultimately, these consolidations failed and operations ceased in 2004.
Hornby Railways offered €8 million to acquire Lima's assets (including tooling, inventory, and the various brand names) in March of the same year, the Italian bankruptcy court of Brescia (town near Milan, last headquarters of Lima) approving the offer later that year. In December 2004, Hornby Railways formally announced the acquisition along with the Rivarossi (H0 North American and Italian prototypes), Arnold (N scale European prototypes), Jouef (H0 scale French prototypes), and Pocher (die-cast metal automobile kits) ranges. As of mid-2006, a range of these products has been made available under the Hornby International brand, refitted with NEM couplings and sprung buffers and sockets for DCC (Digital Command Control) decoders.
