Water Rangers is a unique and cutting edge tool set that not only encourages communities to collect strong, relevant, usable data, but also makes it easier and more joyful to do so. The team at Capra built an in-field data collection app, in-house data management tools, and a world class data sharing platform. Already 140 groups are actively testing in Canada, United States, Mexico, and more!
By offering an easy-to-browse native plant database for regions, plus tools to empower landowners to participate in planning the restoration, Watersheds Canada are able to restore more shorelines than ever!

It might not be surprising that the best website and app for people to easily share and learn about water quality data is being developed right here in Ontario. To date, Water Rangers has produced an OUTSTANDING website allowing people who live on, or care about, lakes and rivers to upload their water quality data (e.g. total phosphorus) or observations (e.g. algae blooms) and share these data or observations with others in an easy to understand and accessible format.

We had tried to create a reporting website but lacked the technical skills. In order to make a one stop shop for citizen science reporting, we have transitioned our reporting website over to Water Rangers. Having their technical skills to create the website they have has been a great asset.
