Outreachy internships are:
💵 Paid - $6,000 USD total internship stipend
🌍 Remote - both interns and mentors work remotely
🕰 3 months - internships run May 24 to August 24

Outreachy provides remote internships. Outreachy internships are open to applicants around the world. Interns work remotely. Interns are not required to move.
Outreachy internships run twice a year: May to August, and December to March.
Interns work with experienced mentors from open source communities. Outreachy internship projects may include programming, user experience, documentation, illustration, graphical design, data science, project marketing, user advocacy, or community event planning.
Outreachy's goal is to increase diversity in open source. Past Outreachy interns are:

🧕🏾 64% people of color
🧑🏿 12% people from a historically disadvantaged caste or tribe
Statistics are based on responses to the 2019 longitudinal study of Outreachy alums.
Outreachy expressly invites women (both cis and trans), trans men, and genderqueer people to apply.
