i mean the fact that people studying science aren’t actually FORCED to learn the social contexts of their own fields is completely ridiculous i remember being in a neuroscience class and the professor mentioned phrenology but all he said abt it was that it was like. factually incorrect. he didnt even mention that it was used to support racism and eugenics and he DEFINITELY didnt talk about how the SAME fallacies that drove scientists to look for defining characteristics in people’s skull shape a hundred years ago are NOW driving scientists to look for gay genes and autism genes and genetic racial profiling

dividing generations into discrete categories has always been kinda dumb for everything except big sociology purposes. But i think it's especially dumb to act like there's a hard line between "Gen Z" and "Millenials," which in the US are both groups of internet natives who are on average poor as fuck, have to live with their parents and even grew up with the same fucking wars. I don't think that whether or not you find skinny jeans cringe counts for much in the face of that.
