the 8 year old i babysit really likes my tattoos and i was showing her the one on my arm and talking about how i wanted to get more to cover my arms and would go over the scars on my shoulder at some point, and she pointed to the big self harm scars on my forearm (she doesn’t know what they’re from) and said “don’t cover up those ones, they’re cool!” and i was like gonna cry. she also really likes the way they feel and will run her finger up and down my forearm over the scars (which i also do to stim when im alone) and like i would be really uncomfortable with anyone else interacting with my scars like that but her innocence and genuine praise of how cool i look just makes me so happy <3
