Starting to think I just need to buy a new one, but is this supposed to mean something specific? The Stud and Deep Stud settings still seem to work, but on the setting to detect metal, the whole screen just flashes.

I changed the battery, then changed it again with a battery fresh from the store, set it on different walls to calibrate... None of the online instructions mention this as an error code, except to suggest a new-from-the-store battery.

Already have a different brand carted on Amazon, but still wondering this one is salvageable.
