I struggled with this a lot since the mainstream advice is to follow your passion and you will never have to "work" another day. While this may be true for some people, a lot of things we do for fun don't necessarily lead to a decent income.
If you have a clear passion and you want a career out of it, by all means go for it. This is more for people like myself who don't hate what they do but feel pressured to find a job they're passionate about. I used to think I need to switch careers because while my job isn't horrible it isn't the most exciting thing either and I certainly wouldn't do it for free.
If you're not too excited about your job, look at what it DOES offer you. It might have a lot of perks you've overlooked. A flexible schedule. Smart co-workers you enjoy working with. Management that trusts you with no micromanaging. A work from home environment or an easy commute. A great work-life balance culture.
All of which lead to a low-stress environment. And this will allow you enough energy to focus on your passions outside of work without having to figure out how to monetize them.
Voila, I now love my job.

A Life Pro Tip (or an LPT) is a specific action with definitive results that improves life for you and those around you in a specific and significant way.
Keep in mind that giving someone advice is not the same as giving someone a LPT. Advice is offering someone guidance or offering someone a recommendation.
Examples of advice:
“Always be prepared to leave your employer because they are prepared to leave you.”
“A marriage proposal should not come as a big surprise, despite what you may have seen in the movies.”
“You should go to bed at the same time every night and wake at the same time every morning because it will make you feel great.”
Examples of LPTs:
“Don't buy oven mitts, get welders gloves from a hardware store! They can protect from higher heat and are better made.”
“When microwaving food make it in the shape of a ring or a donut. It heats up significantly quicker and more evenly.”
“If you buy pre-packaged greens like spring mix or spinach, adding a paper towel to the container prolongs the life by at least a week and prevents soggy and wilted leaves.”
“If you have bad smelling shoes, place a few dry tea bags inside each shoe to absorb the smell. If your shoes are not just smelly but also wet, fill them with a mixture of rice and baking soda and leave for a few days.”
16. Do not submit jokes or attempt to troll.
Note that moderators will use their own discretion to remove any post that they believe is low-quality or not considered a LPT.
