That’s correct. As a DM I rule that a nat 20 on a skill gives you the best possible result, not necessarily a success. Like if you roll to seduce the dragon and get a nat 20 you don’t get to fuck the dragon. Instead the dragon finds you amusing, traps you in a gem, kills all your friends and throws you in his hoard of treasure

Most spiders will kill each other on sight unless they’re mating (and even then…). Some true spiders (ie not tarantulas) form giant web clusters and capture prey together, and there’s one tarantula species I know of that will make a nest together
