About Iowa Department of Corrections
The Iowa Department of Corrections is the agency that is not only responsible for those who are housed in one of their many facilities within the state of Iowa, but they are also responsible for many other services as well.
The Iowa Department of Corrections tries, and use being jailed as their last resort option. The Iowa Department of Corrections has many other ways to rehabilitate an offender prior to sending them to jail.
For instance, if an offender is waiting on their trial, they may be kept out into the community under the supervision of the agency if all requirements are met.
The Iowa Department of Corrections is also responsible for individuals on probation as well. All individuals on probation will be required to meet up with their probation officer during their required time. If they fail to do so, they can be incarcerated in one of the facilities.
