The Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) is responding with all available resources to help lessen the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) into our facilities.
The GDC has compiled a list of Frequently Asked Questions in an effort to assist with information important to friends and family of offenders.
The following is a list of general COVID-19 information provided to offenders. Additional materials, including posters and a more detailed outline of COVID-19 via communication from the Warden, and display of posters around the facilities have also been provided.
The GDC will begin a modified visitation schedule TENTATIVELY on January 29th, 2021.
Visits will be made by appointment only and will be in keeping with social distancing guidelines. Instructions related to scheduling appointments and additional details can be found here: Facility Visitation Process.
To make an appointment, please click below. If your loved one is housed at a county or private facility, please contact that facility directly for information related to scheduling.
Please note, the date is subject to change and is dependent upon state and facility positivity rates leading up to January 29th.
The GDC will maintain a COVID-19 dashboard for providing status of COVID-19 cases among GDC staff (self-reported), as well as among the state, county and private facility offender population. This dashboard will be updated daily at 6:00pm, based on the most recent data available from the GDC’s Office of Health Services.
