This website is a conservative website. This blog tracks all sorts of news and social issues from a distinctly right-wing conservative perspective. In this blog, the terms “right wing” and “conservative” are not bad terms. Forget about what you’ve heard in mainstream media. The world could use, and in particular, America could use a little more conservatism. The problem with our government and society in general is that we are all too eager and willing to jump into the future with both feet.

Oftentimes, we just need a half-baked idea peddled with all the best intentions in the world to get excited. So, we try this idea, pour a lot of money into it and guess what happens? It doesn’t work. As the old saying goes, hell is paved with good intentions. Unfortunately, in the United States, we have spent a tremendous amount of treasure and, unfortunately, blood for half-baked, ill-conceived, half-developed and wrongly planned ideas. To make matters worse, when things blow up in our face.

Modern Liberalism

We are told by liberal elites and people who are supposed to know better than us that it’s all our fault. They keep saying that we did not do it the right way the first time around. We did not really believe in it. We needed to put in more money and on and on the list of excuses go. Well, the reality is the best judge of where your money will go is you. Make no mistake about it the government is a lousy step-parent, and that’s precisely the kind of situation.

Sake of Change

That’s the bottom line. You work hard for your money. Why should a large chunk of it go to taxes? Why should it go to people who spend other people’s money on things that they really have no idea about? This is the perfect storm for a tremendous amount of waste or flat-out abuse. If you need a solid example of this, look at America’s war on poverty. We are in the fiftieth year of this war, and what do we have to show for it?

Traditional Society

We have spent trillions upon trillions of dollars, and the poverty rate in the United States remains roughly the same as it was when this war on poverty started. It’s as if we spent a tremendous amount of money for nothing. We ended up in the same place. To make matters worse, we have created generation after generation of people who are dependent on the government dole. Let me tell you when you get people to become dependent.

Job Welfare

They’re not going to feel thankful. They’re not going to feel gratitude. Instead, they can’t wait until the next government check. To make matters worse, these people are simply trained by the government not to become contributing members of society. There is no incentive to be productive. In fact, when you look at the statistical data on welfare in the United States, it leads to single-parent homes, crime, government dependency and drug dependency.

 Conservation

However, this is news to the people behind this program. Their solution is to just keep pouring money into it, keep increasing the budget and hope for the best.

You probably have heard this many times before. In fact, you probably have heard this saying so much that you are sick and tired of it, but I cannot think of any other saying that is more appropriate to the situation than what Albert Einstein said about insanity. Albert Einstein, one of the world’s smartest men ever, said that the definition of insanity is to do the same thing over and over again while expecting a different result each time.

Government

We keep pouring money into the poverty problem but year after year, it just stays the same, and I would suggest and argue.

That it’s actually getting worse because it funds unproductive and even socially destructive behavior. Why should somebody go to school when they’re getting money from the government? Why should somebody practice smart, effective and socially conducive parenting when the government is going to pick up the slack? We’re not talking about a few bucks here and there. We’re talking about cradle-to-grave government support, and then all of these people turn around and complain about injustice.

Poverty Phenomenon

Poverty in America really is quite an interesting phenomenon because these are people with flat-screen TVs. These are people with indoor plumbing and heating during the winter. These are people who have access to public education and free-lunch programs. The health care that most Americans struggle to afford is provided absolutely free. On top of all these benefits, people turn around and complain that the government is not doing enough.

Is this the kind of situation we want to put ourselves in? That’s what conservatism is about. It’s really not about being an asshole. It’s not about being a jerk. It’s about getting real. What kind of situation are you really in when you’re putting in billions of your hard-earned money year after year and have nothing to show for? If this happened in your household, you are not going to stand up for this. You’re going to get sick and tired of it, and you’re going to demand change.

People's Resources

Unfortunately, the welfare state has gotten so big and has seeped into different areas of American life that a lot of people have basically resigned themselves to the idea that this is necessary. No, it’s not.

What if I told you that the poverty rates in the United States were actually lower during the time of private charity? This should not be a surprise because when you are a poor person who enrolls in a private charity program, you actually engage with real people who care about your welfare? These people will help you find a job. These people will help you get the right training. Most importantly, they will monitor you, encourage you and, if necessary, reprimand you because you haven’t gotten your act together. In other words, there is a real system of accountability that helps push people up and out.

Personal leisure doesn’t just involve down time with your fave ejuice

What I love about my best e-juice choices is the fact that they really express my personality in terms of personal taste, but they also give me focus. I love to write. I write for a living and as you can probably already tell, as somebody who works with words and who’s words are his life, imagination, creativity and possibility are in short supply.

Now you may be rolling your eyes because how can imagination be in short supply? There is such a thing as writers block. You can get into a particular space where it seems that the road ahead of you is very limited, narrow and ultimately too familiar. Let me tell you, there’s nothing scarier to a writer than the feeling that you are stringing along your words the exact same way again and again. It’s as if you’re incapable of saying something new.

This strikes terror to my soul. It really makes me shake in my boots and I can’t get those nightmare images out of my head because there goes my livelihood. The whole idea of being a writer is to take your imagination and open the doorways to creativity, possibility and potential so you can take different ideas and craft different words out of them. And as you combine these different words and thousands and thousands of different directions, you come up with something new.

You and I both know that thoughts are not new. Somebody might say something that seems new to you, but if you break down the logical structure of what they said, somebody has said it before. The reason for this is actually quite simple. The world isn’t really all that complicated. It seems complicated because we read in a lot of things into it, but ultimately, it falls into certain basic structures and there’s so many ways you can look at it.

What really makes it seem different is because different people have different ways of expressing what they see, touch, smell, taste and hear. Putting this all together, it all boils down to rendition. This is what’s so awesome about it.

Personal leisure can really become a great opportunity to recharge your mind in so many ways. This is what I do. I use my personal time to vape with my favorite e-liquid to allow the complicated and elegant combination of tastes both in my nostrils, nasal passages and my throat to transport me to different ways of connecting the dots between ideas.

I inhabit an industry where you’re paid not just by the number of words you produce, but by the quality of your ideas or at the very least, how seemingly new they are. So I never waste an opportunity to allow myself to be transported to a place where I can come up with many different thoughts and dress them up in many different ways so they can take the form of different words which express basically the same idea.

Please understand that as I mentioned earlier, the amount of original ideas out there are actually very limited.
