Sales executive is slammed for complaining about Austin

Brett Alder, director of semiconductor business development at Japanese firm Hamamatsu, (circled with his family) has been called 'entitled' and a 'douche' for writing in a blog his relocation from California to Texas in 2015 was an 'expensive mistake'. Alder upped sticks to move his family to a sprawling property in Austin (top right) ‘looking for a boost in lifestyle' but found their new life was not all it was cracked up to be. He listed a litany of 'problems' explaining why they then returned to the Golden State including bad driving, the 'lame' car washes, the cost of living, the 'monoculture that doesn't seem to be aware of its own blandness' and the fact he took his kids out of school because it was a 'micro-managed military academy'. Such is his grievance with the Texas city that his '10 reasons that Austin is not the "California of Texas"' rumbled on into number 11 which was what he called the 'big luxury home obsession' - before he moved back to a $1.8 million property in San Jose (bottom right). Twitter users (inset) slammed Alder as a ‘douche’ and ‘entitled’ for his 'condescending' and 'insulting' article. His scathing review comes as Austin has faced an influx of Californians in recent years led by Elon Musk and tech titans including Hewlett Packard and Oracle.

Ouch! Denver Nuggets guard Jamal Murray is ejected for 'intentionally' hitting Dallas Mavericks' Tim Hardaway Jr. in the groin when the two got tangled

Denver Nuggets guard Jamal Murray was ejected after what appeared to be an intentional shot to the groin area of Dallas' Tim Hardaway Jr. in the second half of their game on Monday night. Murray stumbled backward after the pair collided as Denver was setting up on offense. Murray got up and reached between Hardaway's legs with his right arm, prompting Hardaway to double over. The official closest to the contact blew the whistle to stop play with 4:51 left in the third quarter and conferred with the other referees. The initial call was a foul on Murray, and it was upgraded to a flagrant-two foul on a video review. Murray had 16 points when he was ejected, his same team-leading total from halftime. Malone said he asked crew chief Zach Zarba for an explanation, and Zarba told him the replay was 'fairly obvious.' 'There was a lot of physicality between those two,' Malone said. 'They came out very aggressive in the third quarter, which we knew they would. Hopefully it's nothing more than Jamal getting ejected tonight and we can just use it as a learning experience.' The Nuggets led 80-73 when the game was stopped, and Hardaway scored the next seven points in just 23 seconds to get the Mavericks even before they went on to take their first lead since early in the first quarter. Denver won 117-113.
