Rosenberg Fund for Children Grant Deadline, March 21st; Link to Application

http://www.rfc.org/application

The Rosenberg Fund for Children provides for the educational and
emotional needs of children of targeted progressive activists, and youth
who are targeted activists themselves. In most instances, professionals
and institutions directly receive the grants to provide services at no
or reduced cost to beneficiaries. Please see Granting Programs for further details.

Please carefully read the Basic Information Sheet (available at the
bottom of the page in English and Spanish) and the appropriate Grant
Applications before submitting an application.

Definitions/Limitations

The RFC defines “targeted” as someone who as a result of his or her activism, has:
lost a job, suffered physical or mental injury or disability, been harassed or
discriminated against, been imprisoned or died.

The RFC defines “progressive activities” as those taken to further any of the
following beliefs:

All people have equal worth. World peace is a necessity. People are more important
than profits. Society must function within ecologically sustainable limits.

What the Rosenberg Fund for Children Funds:

The RFC funds institutions and individual providers who support the
values listed above. Subject to our financial ability, the RFC will fund
such things as: counseling; school tuition; camp tuition; cultural
lessons; after-school programs; prison visits; educational or
therapeutic travel; and post high-school books and supplies for college
or other educational training

Applications and Deadlines

Please review the information sheet and the grant guidelines at the beginning of the application before completing the application. Please note that ALL applications have been revised for Fall 2010.

There are now different applications for renewal requests (for families who have received grants from the RFC in the past), for new families (for those who have not yet received RFC support for any children in the family) and for a new child (for children born or adopted into a family which has received support for other children from the RFC).

If you have any questions, please contact the office.

Application Deadlines

Applications are considered twice each year. The deadline for applications for Spring grants is March 21st and for Fall grants is October 13th. The RFC Board of Directors awards all grants.

Please note that incomplete or late applications will be considered last and may not be funded.
