THE ISSUE
Every day more and more Australian's are going hungry and experience food insecurity.
Last year 1.2 million Australian children and 1 in 6 Australian Adults went hungry.
This year over 2 million Australian households (21%) have experienced severe food insecurity in the last 12 months.
Severe food insecurity is where people skip meals or go whole days without eating.
Charities are also struggling with the demand for food, meals and hampers as well as struggling with the cost of rising food prices.
We have a SOLUTION...
OUR SOLUTION
We propose to create a network of charity farms growing food all year round that will then be given freely to local charities to create urgently needed meals.
We resolve two main issues:
- we fill the shortfall of food by producing more; and
- we help charities with costs by given them free food.
