AWOL
What will happen if I go AWOL? Being AWOL can be a serious offense with serious consequences, especially during a period of war. However, many military personnel during the Vietnam war and the current war in Iraq have gone absent without leave as a last resort, refusing to be forced into violating their conscience and legal duty to refuse and challenge unlawful orders.
