About

Back Page Football was founded and launched in the summer of 2009 to provide a platform for upcoming writers and high quality football writing.

The blog was launched by Kevin Coleman, an Irish-based Liverpool fan and Neil Sherwin, an Australia-based Manchester City fan.

BPF was developed by Ollie Kavanagh of Capra Design, and designed and developed the latest incarnation of the website in 2017.

In 2014, Charles Pulling joined the editorial team with Kevin and Neil.

From the beginning, the goal of the blog has been to provide a platform for football writers to write about the beautiful game and have their work seen by the masses, enabling them to further their career. Some writers who have passed through our doors have gone on to work for a number of major publications across the world, feature on podcasts and television and even have books published.

In its eight years online, BPF has featured hundreds of writers, thousands upon thousands of articles, and covered football from every corner of the globe, from Tallaght to Thailand and everywhere in between.

In 2010 we launched a podcast with journalist Ciarán O’ Raghailligh behind the microphone. It has gone through a number of redevelopments, for a period under the guidance of Setanta Sports and Tom Fox, and most recently at home with co-editor Neil.

After eight years, we continue to provide a strong platform for talented writers and budding journalists. If you want to join the team and take your first step on the road to the world of football writing, get in touch with us in any way you can.
