$366,615 in donations were laundered through a holding company called ‘LNP nominees’ to (you guessed it) the Liberal Party #auspol

A range of shell companies and front groups are laundering millions of dollars to the major parties to keep the original donors hidden from public view. The ‘Kooyong 200 club’, ‘LNP Nominees’ and Menzies 200 for the Liberals and John Curtin House and 1973 Foundation for the ALP.

Pratt Holdings (Visy) donated an eye-watering $1.6 million to Coalition parties. You may recall Anthony Pratt from the box factory launch that brought Trump + Morisson together in Ohio. The govt’s recycling export ban was also crafted in a way to help Visy industries. #auspol

Other donors that benefited from privatisation: $149,500 from private education providers $81,000 from toll road operators And strangely $110,000 to each party from the private company that now runs the Australian Stock Exchange.

Companies that have made a motza from privatisation also feature heavily in donations disclosures to the major parties: $66,000 from aged care companies $189,250 from airports $414,500 from private health companies

Santos donated $60,000 to the Coalition parties. Australia gets a “gas-led recovery” and their Narrabri gas project gets approval. #auspol

In the lead up to the next election, Bill Shorten promised in writing, that the ALP would not proceed with that measure. They had never made a donation before. But they gave $250,000 to the Libs after that announcement. Abbott pledged if elected, he would not proceed with that measure. Each and every year since then, they have donated tens of thousands of dollars to both parties. 3/5

The big four consulting firms – PwC, KPMG, Deloitte, Ernst & Young donated $208,869 - to Coalition in the 19/20 FY. They booked around $600,000,000 in federal Government contracts over the same period. Good return on investment. #auspol

The coal, oil + gas industry continues its regular donations spree even in a non-election year, with $313,500 disclosed to the Liberals and Nationals and $346,850 to the Labor Party. The Libs would have received a lot more if we had a 1k disclosure threshold #auspol

Nine Entertainment donated $27,500 to the Liberal Party. Nine's hosted a $35,000 fundraiser for them, Peter Costello is the Chair, they benefited from the Liberal’s media deregulation laws. Isn't this news org supposed to hold govt to account? #auspol

Mining magnate Trevor St Baker's company donated $25,000 to the Liberal Party while its (successful) application for a $8,700,000 government grant to upgrade its coal plant was going through the department. #auspol

Companies currently vying for govt contracts or funding shouldn’t be able to influence the outcome through donations, and the Greens bill will help stop this.

Last year’s donations data also revealed that Adani had donated immediately prior to and following the Minister’s decision to approve its water management plan under federal environmental laws.

E.g the Walker Corporation, who donated while their environmental application to develop Toondah Harbour was being considered.
